Pak Kaduk "pengasas" keturunan sumpahan ikan tapah ni bukan keturunan RAWA.

Pak kaduk keturunan RAJA SIAK.

Ada SUKU keturunan RAWA (tak semua)
tak boleh pijak tanah, simen  (start bertatih atas tanah bila time baby)
kalau tak buat adat cecah tanah.

nanti baby tu cirit-cirit-cirit-cirit dan terus mencirit sampai penat,
sampai dah kurang cecair dalam badan dan innalillahi wainna ilaihi rajiun....

SEbab sumpahan "pengasas"nya PUTI (puteri) yg sanggup jadi raja mereka first2 di Sumatera dulu.
Sebab raja2 yg menggantikan raja yang mangkat semua tak rasi.

Laksamana Bentan, also known as Megat Seri Rama
was a warrior during the reign of Sultan Mahmud II, the 10th Sultan of Johor (1685-1699).

Origin is Bentan, spread over the Kepulauan Kerimun (Carrimon Islands),

Sultan Mahmud Shah II sentenced Laksamana Bentan's pregnant wife to death for eating his jackfruit.

Out of revenge, Laksamana Bentan killed Sultan Mahmud Shah II.

However, before the Sultan died,
he managed to kill Laksamana Bentan by throwing a keris at him and cursed Laksamana and his descendents.

According to my late grandma, we were prohibited from going to Kota Tinggi, for fear of vomitting blood!

This chapter in history is better known as Sultan Mahmud Mangkat di Julang (The Sultan Died On a Sedan)
as the sultan was seated on a man-held sedan chair on his way to Friday prayers when the attack took place.

Unfortunately, Malays in this region have never been good at keeping family trees,
so I'm not sure how to trace the descendents myself.
I have met a few people who share the same lore told to them by their parents/grandparents,

suffice to say, we all share the belief of the curse!

People say that the curse has been lifted, as the 7 generations have since passed,
but an uncle suffered the fate when he tempted it,
and maybe it's pure coincidence,

I was there (only passing through as I was going further south) but whilst we were passing thru,
I had severe headaches and felt dizzy,
at that time I wasn't aware I was approaching or passing thru Kota Tinggi until pointed out
by my friend who was driving,
who knew of this fact of me!

I was almost immediately ok after we left Kota Tinggi, so that was weird.

Plus, some descendents would tell you of their relatives' or they themselves, of their "links" to "the unseen".

Lore has it that the people of Bentan of yesteryears befriend
the unseen to guard them in their travels at sea and in wars,
so somehow, some of these forces are "passed down", like it or not!

I am not aware of any real or official records, again,
the lack of record keeping of the people of this region! soem of the descendents have relics of the past,
some claim to have in their possession this and that,
but I doubt there has been any real cataloguing or research done.

A trait perhaps common with most, is having a temper, and sense of justice or not taking lightly any challenge!
can't say that is anything much, but the tempers.. those are real tempers!!!
They can really "lose it", not being much in control of the same when such flare! sorry can't be of more help.
the stories you'd get on the net would be pretty much similar.

The older folks have most long gone,
I was just a kid to have been able to ask more,
at that time I didn't think much of it except thinking it was a cool thing that Laksamana did!

Sultan Mahmud Syah

Sultan Mahmud Syah II yang juga dikenali sebagai Sultan Mahmud mangkat dijulang
dilahirkan pada 1675 dan merupakan cucu Sultan Alauddin Riayat Shah II,
penubuh Kesultanan Johor.

Menurut catatan Tuhfatul Nafis dikarang Raja Haji pemerintah Bugis,
Sultan Mahmud Syah II yang sedang diusung di atas julang
dalam perjalanannya untuk menunaikan solat Jumaat
telah dibunuh oleh Panglima Betan, Megat Seri Rama
yang membalas dendam atas kematian isterinya yang sedang mengandung akibat perintah sultan.

Kematian Sultan Mahmud Syah II pada tahun 1699 menjadikan terputusnya pemerintah keturunan Melaka dan tampuk pemerintahan diambil alih oleh Bendahara Abdul Jalil.

Menurut Hikayat Negeri Johor serta Pahang MS,
bendahara Abdul Jalil telah membunuh semua isteri Sultan Mahmud
kecuali Che Mi yang lepas lari ke Minangkabau
dan melahirkan Raja Kechil.

Pada 21 March 1717 Raja Kechil dengan angkatan Minangkabau
menyerang dan mengalahkan kerajaan Johor.

Sultan Sulaiman Syah kembali merampas takhta dengan bantuan orang-orang Bugis
pada tahun 1722 dan Raja Kechil berundur ke Siak
dan menubuhkan kerajaan baru di Siak

Seven-Generation Curse Lifted On Island Tomb
[Original headline: Curse on Bentan nears its end]


KOTA TINGGI: The legendary seven-generation curse made Mahsuri Tomb, in the fabled island of Langkawi, a popular destination, but the same cannot be said of a warrior tribe cursed since 1699.

The Bentan people, once a well-known Malay warrior clan who fought for the Johor Sultanate, were cursed to vomit blood over seven generations if they dared set foot in this town after one of their clansmen assassinated the then Sultan.

The assassination is recorded in history ? Sultan Mahmud Shah II was fatally attacked by Laksamana (General) Megat Sri Rama (also known as Laksamana Bentan) in 1699 ? but the Ruler managed to kill his assassin before he himself died.

This chapter in history is better known as Sultan Mahmud Mangkat di Julang (The Sultan Died On a Sedan) as the sultan was seated on a man-held sedan chair on his way to Friday prayers when the attack took place.

It was believed that Laksamana Bentan stabbed the Sultan with a keris in revenge for the death of his pregnant wife, Dang Anum, who was executed by the Sultan for having eaten a fruit from the royal orchard.

The story of the seven-generation curse, however, was passed down in oral history and became more colourful over the centuries with eyewitness accounts of how Bentan descendants had vomited blood and died when they arrived here.

For Said Abdul Rahman, 17, from Kampung Kelantan here, where the remains of Laksamana Bentan and his wife are buried, the assassination and its consequences have been part of his childhood bedtime stories.

?he Bentan grave is just metres away from my grandmother? house and she used to tell stories of how the disloyal act had landed the Bentan clan in misfortune and forced them to flee their homeland.

?any old folk in the village claim the curse is effective, saying they had seen Bentan descendants vomit blood on entering Kota Tinggi old town, the then capital of Johor.

? have never met Bentan descendants here despite the fact that this village was called Kampung Laksamana Bentan,? he said when met at the Bentan tomb recently.

The tomb has been restored by the state Museums and Antiquity Department and a signboard in Bahasa Malaysia and English has been erected giving a brief on the assassination.

The graveyard, which faces Sungai Kemang, once the first line of defence for the ancient kingdom and a busy waterway for commerce, has failed to become a popular tourism site as intended.

Occasionally, tourist coaches do pull up at the tranquil village of shabby wooden houses among coconut trees, but the arrivals hardly stir excitement or provide economic gains for villagers.

?ormally, the tourists are Japanese and they just made a quick stop, snap pictures and leave,? said one villager, adding that there was nothing else to see or do near the graveyard.

Some 4km away in Kampung Makam (Graveyard Village) lies the tomb of the ill-fated Sultan who was killed at the age of 24.

Although the tomb has a more presentable front next to a mosque, the site is far from being a historic tourist attraction.

Village head Musa Mahmud has compiled historic data and legends about the Sultan and his assassin on note sheets and offers them to interested parties to promote tourism.

?ore facilities and efforts are needed to make Kota Tinggi live up to its name of the historic jewel of Johor.

?he tomb sites can be turned into recreational parks with resting areas and sidewalks leading to the riverside so that tourists can linger on.

?n exhibition corner and a mini theatre can be set up to showcase the historic background and screen movies based on the event,? he said.

While the ?ifting? of Mahsuri? curse has paved the way for Langkawi? prosperity, the curse on Bentan, which is nearing the end of its tenure, seems to have faded into obscurity with its subjects.

Alhamdulillah setakat ni memang tak de apa2 pantang untuk keturunan saya..cuma sendiri tak leh makan minyak ikan sebab allergy..;);)

saya pun x leh makan ikan tapah. mmg ade sepupu saya yg makan then badan jadi gatal2. saya x penah la try makan. takut gak...

betul ke semua tu?ada yg buat kajian pasal ni tak secara ilmiah@kajian saintifik?????????? nak gak tahu sedikit sebanyak psl aku dah jumpa dan dengar byk sgt psl mende cam gini.ada yg keturunan dia takleh makan ayam la, x leh makan ketam la dan lain2 lagi....nasib baik keluarga aku x de la kena pantang mcm tu.....aku ikut apa yg hukum Islam melarang x leh makan je.........yg lain aku lipat.......... :hatdown:
