This 12-Year-Old Has Been Accepted into 2 Colleges Already. Could Become a Doctor by 18.
Software engineer Bijou Abraham and veterinarian Taji Abraham must be proud parents today. While most adults struggle to get their degrees, battling unrealistic deadlines, a never ending ‘to-do’ list and an ever-increasing reading-list, their son has breezed through getting not one, not two but a total of three degrees! At the tender age of 12, Tanishq Abraham already has three community college degrees to his name. The Indian-American student from Sacramento has also been accepted into two colleges in the University of California, UC Davis and UC Santa Cruz, but is yet to decide on one.
Tanishq plans to study biomedical engineering: “I think I’ll be 18 when I get my MD,” he told CBS 13 Sunday. He hopes to someday work as a doctor and medical researcher. Tanishq score an impressive 99.9. As a five year old, Tanishq enrolled himself in the math classes offered by Stanford University’s Education Program for Gifted Youth (EPGY). He completed the entire course in an astonishing 6 months. By six, Tanishq had taken several high school and college level classes online and had enrolled himself in the American River Community College by seven. He passed the Geology and Astonomy courses with flying colours. He also has the unique distinction of being the youngest person to speak and present a paper at one of NASA’s conferences. Tanishq says that child geniuses are often seen as odd, reports NDTV. “When you think of a genius, you think of a mad scientist kind of thing,” he says. “But I just think learning is fun.” And to think that he is just getting started!
