yup. i know sbb 1st time instal, aku xbuang xp. mmg ade kt boot option nk pilih OS mane.

hm, cd ubuntu tu... xde la plak nk instal grub or lilo. aku baru tau/blaja grub n lilo smlm. hehehe.

ms guna life cd, aku ikut instruction dual boot ni http://www.geocities.com/epark/linux/grub-w2k-HOWTO.html

ade la soh explore n edit ...

Edit /etc/grub.conf and make sure there is an entry for your version of Windows.
For reference, here is a copy of my /etc/grub.conf file.

tp kt system file (temporary kot ek? live cd?) aku jmp etc/grub/ *.lst
baca la script tu, mcm dh ada command boot ntk ubuntu + win xp yg katanya automatik. mmg aku tgk ade. assuming mende tu dh write kt /boot.. aku restart.

nop. i'm wrong. straight je g win xp. hehehe. nk kata sbb limit 8.5gig rules tu, xkan la. sbb win xp aku pny /boot cuma 5.6 gig. so, BIOS ptt blh read the next part kan. xgitu?

ape yg aku phm la. klu slh= salah paham la tu.

Problemnya ko tak install Grub kat MBR or add C:\GLRDR command kat boot.ini. I think you boleh install Grub dari windows, tapi masalahnya takut Grub tak detect menu.lst ko kat ubuntu partition. Hang nampak tak partition ubuntu masa pakai live cd? try to copy it ke partition windows, then try to install Grub.

hm.. i don't know what happened. Live CD no longer detect my windows partitions.

initially, my 1st success installation using Guided, the ubuntu automatically create partition and swap using my free space on my selected windows partition. tp skang, dia cuma detect HDD as a whole. manual pon mcm tu.

rasanya klu aku proceed, kena format abis r hdd aku. huhuhu

kalau nak cari cd linux... distribution ape yg best(beli kat kedai)... ubuntu ke kubuntu ke fedora ke

pastu... senang ke nak setup linux ni... install driver sampai la tahap boleh wat kerja + internet

Apa masalah ko ngan NVIDIA? dia x detect ker?

Ko pakai kad apa?
Aku memula pon masalah ngan 8500GT, tapi aku gamble.. search internet macam2 tempat, tapi akhirnya berjaya gunakannya tanpa masalah.
Cuma aku kena hati2 kalau nak update kernel, kot2 nak masalah kalau terkompil ngan driver yang x serasi.

Sometimes, dia x leh baca ntfs sebab kena lock oleh windows, so sapa2 yang x leh guna linux nak baca ntfs, try pastikan windows cek for error kat disk tu, pastu dia akan release.

Kena banyak membaca dan mengetest...
Yang pastinya mesti ada live sambungan ke NET

dulu aku request cd Ubuntu 7.04 (feisty fawn), xsampi 3mgu dh sampai klu xsilap. 3 kpg aku mintak aritu. hehe. aritu aku request lagi, latest version of Ubuntu 7.10 (gutsy gibbon). tgu je la. nk dl, males. hahaha.

so, ko nk yg mane? aku cadangkan Ubuntu 7.10 tu ler. g kt link aku bg tu. free jer.

aku try linux kat notebook compaq AMD64 ngan nvidia go 6150
aku ingat klu guna ENVY boleh kut. tunggu la cd gutsy yg aku mintak sampai...cuba lagik

askum ..ada x software mcm partition magic kat linux ni..
sy nk partiton balik hard disk utk install balik windows
utk makluman , komp sy hanya ada 1 partition, dan sy dh guna utk install ubuntu...

sy pakai ubuntu 7.10..
masalah sy adalah connection wifi sy x stabil, jd slow sgt...nk masuk google pun susah..
tp masalah ni x terjadi bila dlm window xp (sy guna dual os dlm comp)

mcm mn nk settle kn prob ni?? mintak tolong otai2 suma
