The outfit is named 'Hemmarajnari', and is a blend of traditional Thai patterns and golden decoration. Hemaraj is a mixed lion between a Hem and a Lion.
Designer Sulawat Tangsitchanakul said his inspiration was a creature from the classic Indian mythology called 'Hemmaraj', which is a creature that has the body of a lion and the head of a mythical creature called Hem.
He added that the elegant dress has three different versions and colors and was designed by the Amore tailor shop.

With a very similar style to Zuleyka Rivera in both rounds she moved trough the stage gracefully and effortless, exuding elegance at all points from her neck down. Results of The Best Costume Competition for Miss Panama/Universe 2011
Panama chooses national costume for Miss Universe
The Best Costume competition of the Miss Panama 2011 pageant took place on Thursday, May 5th. The winning costume will be featured during the 2011 Miss Universe pageant to be held in Sao Paulo in September. The winner was “El Cacique Paris, deidad indigena y gran tesoro del Quema”, designed by Moises Sandoya, and modeled by Miss Herrera, Sheldry Saez.
In 2nd place was Miss Veraguas, Irene Nunez, in a design by Abdul Juliao
And in 3rd place was Miss Panama Centro, Keity Mendieta with a design by Daniel Cortina.
