Car thief takes family for a terror ride


SITIAWAN: A canteen operator’s family had to sit through a terrifying ride after a thief hopped into their vehicle and drove off with them inside.

The thief at one point threatened to shoot them, but dropped them unharmed at an oil palm plantation after pleas from the man’s wife.

Ahmad Sujan Abdullah, 32, had left his family waiting in his pick-up truck while he shopped for his business supplies here on Monday evening.

Inside the vehicle were his mother-in-law, wife, and three children; aged two-months, four and five.

“I bought RM5,000 worth of goods and placed it in the trunk of my Toyota Hilux and stopped by an automated teller machine (ATM) in Ayer Tawar to withdraw some money.

”I noticed a man passing behind me at the ATM and immediately after that he hopped into my 4WD and sped away,” he told The Star yesterday.

Ahmad Sujan said he was very fearful for his family and called his friends for help.

They also contacted the police and a voluntary security group in the area.

He said the thief drove very quickly and threatened to shoot his family with a pistol if they did not hand over their belongings.

“After my wife pleaded with him he stopped and told them to get out,” he said.

“I’m grateful that my family is safe, but I have lost a RM93,000 Toyota Hilux that I have driven for only seven months and RM5,000 goods.

“That has affected me greatly.

”As a factory canteen operator, I only make RM100 profit a single day, thus it is difficult to recoup my losses,” he said.

salam..sj nk sharing..sy owner Triton 2.5cc..beli tahun 2008 tak salah..rm95k..so far mmg xbyk ragam Triton ni even pki lasak hari2 angkut brg..bwk pon sedap klu short distance tp klu dkt higway pemanduan xbest bcos rsa gegar n terhoyong hayang klu bawak laju..rsnya hampir suma 4wheels rs cmtu kot bla kt highway..
yg penting cukup mileage servis,mmg kena servis..sparepart agak mahal pd syala..tp xberapa terasa bcos Triton kurang meragam..tahan macam keta Honda..cuma yg xbest, after sales punya service..saya dh 3 kali tukar pusat servis..mula2 kt SgBesi (masa diorang buat servis utk Mitsubishi lagi),then Glenmarie then skang kt PJ..sume agak mengecewakan..yg kt Glenmarie tu sampan sebulan diorang suruh saya tinggalkan keta sebab sparepart yg di order tu kena naik kapal laut xsampai2..tensen xtensen dibuatnya..dahla barang kecik sebijik tu sampai seribu rega dia..huhu..
Tp overall..kalau tanya saya pasal Triton..pd saya okla klu nk pki..worth for money..cuma saya memang xsuka p pusat servis dia..maybe sebab tak pernah dapat yg menyenangkan hati..sekian..
