Police say they will name a former East Jakarta senior high school vice principal a suspect this week for allegedly repeatedly sodomizing a third grader.
"We are still waiting for one [compelling] piece of evidence to name T a suspect," Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Rikwanto said on Monday, without further elaboration.
Naming a suspect under the Criminal Code typically requires a minimum number of pieces of evidence or witness testimony.
The school official facing charges, identified as T, 46, was reported to the East Jakarta Police on Feb. 9 by third-grade student MA for allegedly performing oral sex on her on four separate occasions.
Rikwanto said that the police had found another victim, identified as TI.
The lawyer representing the victims, Bambang Sri Pujo Sukarno Sakti, said that there were actually even more victims.
"Unfortunately, they do not want to file a report with the police because they want to maintain their good names," Bambang said, adding the victims included teachers and students from the same school.
