Moon Chae Won visits surgery department, actively prepares for new role
Actress Moon Chae Won carefully prepares to transform into a pediatric surgeon.
In KBS upcoming medical drama “Green Mes”(written by Park Jae Bum, directed by Lee Min Su), which is scheduled to premiere in early August, Moon Chae Won is ready for the new role as the heroine Cha Yoon Seo. Her character is a second year fellow with a strong faith and commitment to her job.
Since her debut in 2007, this is Moon Chae Won first time starring in a medical drama.
Moon Chae Won always looks forward to appear in a medical drama. When this opportunity comes up, she doesn’t want to miss this good chance and is busy preparing for the role. Portraying as a surgeon, she will have to perform a digestive surgery scene. Moon Chae Won makes effort to ready for her character.
Recently Moon Chae Won meets up in person with the doctors in the hospital to study for the normal circumstances of physicians and the explanation of medical terms.
She also experiences with the surgery. “Green Mes” is set at Seoul St. Mary Hospital, Panbodong, Seoul. Moon Chae Won visits and observes the pediatric surgery. The surgery is more “serious” than she thinks; she has to compose herself more deliberately.
Due to the role as a pediatric surgeon, Moon Chae Won will have to perform the surgery scene. To deliver more professional and realistic operation scene, Moon Chae Won gives a great effort for her preparation.
Moon Chae Won official representative said “ With Moon Chae Won, the childhood drama “General Hospital” leaves a strong impression. After debut, Chaewon always hopes to appear in a medical drama one day. And for her first physician role, she endeavors to portray the character perfectly.”
Green Mes is a humane medical drama. It tells the story of a young man carries an elementary mind, whom suffers from savant syndrome, autism and developmental disabilities. The drama portrays his growths to overcome the cruel world and become a pediatric surgeon. Along with Moon Chae Won, Joo Won and Joo Sang Wook also star in the drama. The drama will follow up “Shark”.

Moon Chae Won and Joo Won’s Drama Title Changed to “Good Doctor” KBS 2TV‘s upcoming drama starring Moon Chae Won and Joo Won has changed its name from “Green Scalpel” to “Good Doctor.” A representative of the drama said in a statement, “We decided to change the title to ‘Good Doctor’ because it was pointed out that ‘Green Scalpel’ was too difficult of a title.”
The title change will hopefully better suit the drama about a doctor with autistic tendencies trying to do his best as a pediatric surgeon. With actors such as Moon Chae Won, Joo Won, and Joo Sang Ok cast in the leading roles, the drama had already caught the intertest of the public. The drama began filming on June 13. “Good Doctor” will succeed the current drama “Shark” and air in August.
