Jang Geun Suk Will be a “Pretty Man” for New Drama
Actor Jang Geun Suk will be returning to the small screen in a year with the lead male role in the new drama “Pretty Man.”
“Pretty Man” will be the drama version of the original manhwa written by Choi Kye Young. It is about how Dokko Ma Te, the man with “the prettiest face in the world,” finds love.
Jang Geun Suk’s agency commented, “[Jang Geun Suk] decided on his appearance because he liked the character of Dokko Ma Te. He will do his best to portary this unique character. Please look forward to it.”
“Pretty Man” will be produced by the team Group8 that also produced “Boys Over Flowers” and “Goong.” It will be written by Yoo Young Ah who wrote the movie “Miracle in Cell No.7.”
A source from Group8 stated, “We thought of Jang Geun Suk for the leading role from the start of planning ‘Pretty Man.’ We are working hard with Jang Geun Suk, discussing the character and the overall project, to increase the quality of the project. Jang Geuk Suk plans to show his experienced acting as a actor with 21-year career.”
“Pretty Man” is expected to finish casting and premiere later this year.

Jang Geun Suk's starring drama 'Pretty Man' picked up by KBS + Lee Jang Woo cast for a role
Wait is over for Jang Geun Suk, who has been waiting for a return to the domestic small screens, for KBS has decided to pick up his starring drama 'Pretty Man'.
A rep from the production company revealed the good news for the eagerly awaiting fans as he said, "'Pretty Man' has been confirmed as KBS 2TV's Weds-Thurs drama airing at the end of November."
'Pretty Man' is a story about a man with a pretty face who manages to capture the hearts of females easily, and through them, he gains not only riches and power, but also later learns what's truly important in life.
This 'pretty man' will be played by Jang Geun Suk and his co-star will be actor Lee Jang Woo, who will take on the role of Choi David. Lee Jang Woo's character will be one that has a free spirit and is considered to have a 4D personality, but is kind-hearted.

Actress Han Chae Young, who recently became a focus of attention after giving birth to a son on August 28, is likely to appear in home theater again.
According to officials from Han Chae Young’s new agency SM C & C, the actress is positively considering to star in upcoming KBS2 drama “Pretty Man”, which is slated for November broadcast.
Drama official made a statement about Han Chae Young’s casting, “Her appearance is being coordinated positively but it is not yet official. Jang Geun Suk and Lee Jang Woo’s casting has been confirmed.”
Han Chae Young is a candidate for the casting on Hong Yura’s character, who has a goddess-like image and the person who holds the important key in the series. Official from ‘Pretty Man’ Producer – Group Eight talked about Hong Yura’s character, “As a woman who can show off a variety of charms, Han Chae Young goes with the image.”
If Han Chae Young confirmed for the upcoming series, this will mark her return in small screen after eight months since her participation in KBS2 ‘Ad Genius Lee Tae Baek’ which ended last March.
‘Pretty Man’ is based on a popular manga written by comic author Chun Kye Young. The story draws the process of finding true love of Dokgo Mate to be played by actor Jang Geun Suk.
