IU is currently in talks for the lead female role alongside the already confirmed Jang Geun Suk in new KBS 2TV drama 'Pretty Man'!
IU is in talks to play the lead female character Kim Bo Tong. Like her name which means 'ordinary' or 'average' in Korean, she is an ordinary girl but has a lovable charm. She also has a crush on the 'pretty man', Dok Go Ma Te (Jang Geun Suk), and will find herself in a love triangle with him as well as Lee Jang Woo's character Choi David.
IU's reps stated, "Although we received the synopsis for 'Pretty Man', we are still reviewing it. IU just released an album recently so things are hectic right now and by November, it would be the period to focus on regular, full-fledged promotions so were are not sure whether there will be enough time. We are currently discussing it."
'Pretty Man' is a story about a man with a pretty face who manages to capture the hearts of females easily, and through them, he gains not only riches and power, but also later learns what's truly important in life.
'Pretty Man' is set to premiere following 'Secrets'.

IU Will Star in “Beautiful Man” with Jang Geun Suk
Singer IU is taking on the role of a main character in a drama once again.
She is currently preparing for her comeback in TV dramas with the new KBS miniseries, “Beautiful Man,” which will air mid-next month. One of the “Beautiful Man” production personnel said on StarIN – Edaily that “We have had many candidates for the role and had a meeting with the producers… Currently we are in the final stages of discussion with IU about the part.”
The role IU is discussing is that of the female lead, Kim Bo Tong, which means ‘normal.’ Just as her name suggests, she is an extremely normal, yet oddly lovable girl who has a crush on Dokgo Mate, the busxxxd child of MG Group. The actor for Dokgo Mate was decided early on as actor Jang Geun Suk. Actor Lee Jang Woo will be playing David Choi, who must fight Dokgo Mate for a spot in Bo Tong’s (IU’s) heart.
“Beautiful Man” is to follow up the current drama starring Ji Sung and Hwang Jung Eum, “Secret.” The drama that was originally going to be aired in November, “Generation of Youth,” got pushed back, and the “Beautiful Man” team is doing their best to get the casting for the drama finished up as soon as possible. This drama will be written by a writer with previous experience dramatizing comics, Yoo Young Ah, with previous works such as “My Paparotti,” “Miracle in Cell No. 7,” “No Breathing,” etc. Shooting for the first episode is scheduled to take place before the end of this month.
IU’s first work in a drama was with KBS’s “Dream High,” where she played a student with immense talent, but no looks. Afterwards, she appeared in the KBS drama “You’re the Best, Lee Soon Shin!” where she took on her first lead role and received many compliments for her portrayal of an aspiring actor.
When her role in “Beautiful Man” is finalized, this will be her third drama in which she portrays the exceptional out of an ordinary character.
Meanwhile, IU has recently released a new album, “Modern Times.” She is currently giving her all with promotions for the new album, which has been taking over the music charts.

memang wataknya pompuan tak cantik dgn lelaki cantik.. so watak tu memang sesuai la untuk dia.. kalau ambik pelakon cantik tak best la plak kan..
