KUALA LUMPUR: If you are a victim of the 'scratch and win' scam, then do not bother seeking help from the MCA Public Services and Complaint department.
Its head, Datuk Seri Michael Chong said, this is because he cannot help the victims in getting their monies back.
"I have stopped accepting complaints related to the 'scratch and win' scam as I cannot help the victims get their monies back from those who cheated them via the scam. The victims should instead lodge police reports so that the authorities concerned can initiate investigations to nab the culprits," he added.
Speaking to theSun, Chong said, although he had attended to numerous 'scratch and win' cases in his 28 years of leading the department, he has yet to find any viable solution that can bring an end to the scam.
"Despite the repeated press conferences held to create awareness and to inform public not to fall prey to this scam, there are still people falling for it,"he added.
Chong said he feels helpless and saddened that he cannot help the victims of the scam.
"People fall prey to this scam either through ignorance or greed. What they don't realise is that in this world nothing comes easy without an effort," he added.
He said people should think carefully before making any monetary transfers to accounts of strangers.
Chong said another issue that saddens him is how people get blackmailed easily by someone whom they hardly know by using pictures and videos.
"I really don't understand why some people are so willing to strip naked for an individual despite the media highlighting their intention or modus operandi to fleece the victims off their money," he added.
Chong said, even though he had managed to resolve 18 cases that were brought to his attention with the victims immediately stopping payments, new cases were still mushrooming.
On whether Chong has found a successor for his job when he retires, he said: "I have identified a few potential candidates within the party and will keep a close watch on their performance."
He said the job requires a lot of commitment, dedication, passion and most importantly time and support of relevant government departments and agencies and the string of networks. |

Adik aku pernah pedajal orang kerja gores dan menang ni... dia gores banyak banyak lepas tu tak nak bayar satu sen pun.. apa dia orang boleh buat? Nak menipu, sendiri kena tipu.  |
