kalau kau perempuan, chemical engineering quite common perempuan ambik. even ada engineering company kat KL ni, lead process (chemical) adalah perempuan.

I did mechatronics for my diploma and major in mechanical for BEng

can u guys agree that mechanical engineering cover most of the engineering subject,

and actually what u have learn are the basic element to the other engineering,

and yet you could join almost all industries.



why i choose mechanical engineering,

it is because i learn something that actualy capable of explain almost everything that happen in this world, of coucrse within the human limit of thinking and invention

the more I learn about mechanical, the more I learn about the world as it is...

we learn all the basic areas of Physics...

Electric, nuclear, heat, dynamic, fluid, relativity.....

all these interrelates each other...

each one cant exist on its own.

how can a cup of water free from either nuclear scale, heat, dynamic, fliud, relativity and electric properties?

the reason I choose mechanical is that I hope I can make the world a better place.

it is this purpose that makes my goal in life more vivid.

sometimes people study to earn money.. nothing more.... in the end they have lots of money but they do not know why

Fluid dynamic - pelajaran berkenaan sifat2 bendalir yang bergerak, termasuk udara, dgn cecair.
advance fluid dynamic - aerodynamics, hydrdynamics
teknologi berkenaan, keta F1, sayap kapal terbang, tekanan pada empangan yg mgerakkan turbin

heat transfer - camna haba berpindah dr satu keadaan panas ke keadaan sejuk.
teknologi berkaitan, teknologi nukelar, enjin stim

thermodynamics - berkenaan perubahan, tekanan, suhu, dan isipadu terhadap satu sistem
teknologi berkenaan aircond, enjin keta

AutoCad - bantuan komp, melibatkan pembentukan item 3D, dgn satu klik bentuk 3D akan dihasilkan. selain tu, bila lukisan 3D dah disiapkan, ko leh pusingkan objek  tu ikut suka ati. AutoCad hanya software utk membantu dlm rekabentuk terutama lukisan (CAD - Computer Aided Design)

ada software lain seperti CAM dan CAE yang melakukan fungsi yang lebih detail dan kompleks,
CAM - Computer Aided Manufacturing - membantu memberi arahan manufacturing pada mesin2 tertentu seperti CNC
CAE - Computer Aided Engineering - membantu melakukan calculation/simulation engineering

here's an unconventional application of FEA. It's my directed research I did last summer. (I posted a thread on this a while ago).



That's a preliminary result of an FEA of a present-day hyena skull.

I was helping a PhD candidate in biology to use Mechanical Engineering approach in studying the following ~10M year-old fossil of a Dinocrocuta Gigantea (Giant Hyena, or simply really really old hyena).


The reason why I used the present day hyena skull is because it's a lot cleaner, meaning less finite element for my analysis. And a highly simplified model took like 45 minutes for Nastran to solve. Unlike regular ME FEA, organic structures are normally a lot more complex. You'll need soo many more elements just to model the basic shape.

Well, though I suck at biology, at least I contributed to the field with my ME knowledge.
