Maria n Biyuti...jaga diri baik-baik n keep us update ya...dah tau gendr baby ke? My babies sekarang kuat tendang oo...bukan satu tapi dua..hehehehe..my 2 babies growing well n on track...doc kata ard 37 atau 38 minggu sudah nak operate keluarkan babies..sekarang tertunggu -tunggu aje hari tu..

N dah lama Ziara tak update..semoga Ziara n baby sihat-sihat...

    Terima kasih Pobear...Maria dah scan tp baby still tak tahu jantina lagi, asyik mengelak jer baby bila nak tgk jantina..hihihi..Alhamdulillah semakin sihat cuma teman-teman forum ada petua, tiap2 mlm kul 4 pagi Maria akan terjaga dan tak boleh tido blk...agak keletihan nak gie kerja pagi tu...Pobear ada alami perkara nie?

Salam Pobear,

Alhamdullillah....seronok dengar success story. Rasa lega sikit, I first time nak buat in March. Saya di US. Ingatkan nak buat di M'sia hari tu, tapi lepas kira tolak campur, belanja lebih kurang. Lagi2 nanti kena ambik cuti keje lama sangat, takut pulak boss tak bagi. Tried IUI 3 kali, all failed. Mudah-mudahan ada rezeki dengan IVF.

Pobear, nak tanya:

1. You guna protocol apa? Long Lupron or Antagonist?
2. What meds you ambik?
3. Retrieve hari ke berapa?
4. How many eggs retrieved and how many transferred
5. How many days you get positive results
6. How long you are trying, is this the first baby?

Hi Maria...for me I malam susah sikit nak tidur...biasa 1 or 2am baru boleh tidur...sebab sekarang perut semakin besar..so banyak position tak sesuai...kalau makan terlalu kenyang lagi tak boleh tidur..like all mummies utk bb we have to sacrifice aje...maybe satu bb its ok..2 bb perut macam nak pecah...hehehe...so kalau noon i boleh tidur i tidur aje...

Hi Rzack....I pun failed 2 kali iui & 1 kali ivf kat hospital lain...so after failed i came to Metro for 2nd ivf..dr recommend long protocol coz umur meningkat long protocol lebih stable..dr kasi I buserelin to control my hormone n Gonal -F utk stimulation...i dapat retrived 11 eggs(consider good amount for my age) & 7 fetilized...dr put back day-3 embryo( 3 embryo)...2 -8 cells grade 1 & 1 7 cell grade 2....my beta was check 0n day 8 after transfer(92) & on day 12( 580)..pada mulanya i dapat triplets....tapi salah 1 bb punya heartbeat stop at 9 weeks plus...but thank god this 2 little angels fight through & so far growing healtily n on track...coz of my age dr suruh buat amnio test dan results all normal n same with details scan too...

    Sis, I'm going to be 40 in July . Currently 16 weeks pregnant.

Pobear, thx for your concern. I okay je, cuma last scan placenta low, so I decided to lie low too hehe.
Actually dah masuk 2nd trimester ni semakin 'meriah' I uwek2, masa 1st trimester I okay je.. Siap tanya dr lagi why I don't have morning sickness. Now I tanya hubby pulak, kenapa I muntah, kan patutnya dah 2nd trimester I should feel good. Hubby ckp that's what you've been asking for kan, now dapat .. Haha..

Ziara, thanks for sharing the good news. I am nervous coz' all studies bagi tau IVF chances for 40st cuma 15% each cycle. So low. I tak de apa2 problem, cuma unexplained. Tapi mesti ada problem, kalau tak macam mana tak jadi? Betul tak? hehe

Dr. suggest I Long Lupron, tapi many of my friends informed it not suitable for old women because it will supress the ovaries and finally eggs tak banyak. So I mintak dia tukar pada Antagonist protocol.

For now I ambik meds:

Bravelle
Menopur
Cetrotide 0.25 mg - Injection
Dexamethasone 0.5 mg - Tablets
Estrace 2 mg - Tablets 2 mg
HCG 10,000 U Vials 10000 units - Injection

My first IVF will be around end of March.

    Rzac.. Of course nervous, tapi prinsip I, rempuh je lah hehe. I'd rather fail trying than not try at all.
I ada baca overseas sites juga abt ivf particularly those from US, UK, Australia. I notice meds yg diguna berbeza from here.. Agaknya sana lagi advanced, atau ubat2an lagi murah, atau lagi banyak choices. Apa2 pun yg penting you're able to trust your dr's decision.

I buat long protocol, may be coz of my age. My ovaries were suppressed for more than 1 mth. I pun tak ingat the details sgt coz my fresh cycle was in June-July. Let's see... Mula2 I guna buserelin (suppress), lepas tu tambah dgn gonal-f (stimulation?), then towards the end menopur kot. Egg retrieval ard cycle day 30. No. of egg retrieved pun tak ingat haha.. Blame it on my foggy pregnant brain.. Ard 12 kot. Tapi yg fertilised dan of acceptable quality cuma 5. Three were transferred and 2 frozen. Buat day3 transfer. Beta hcg test 14 days later.. I think it's standard procedure at that hospital to do blood test after 14 days for day3 transfers. Dapat positive results, tapi I miscarried at 6 weeks. Itu cerita bulan august.

In November, I buat natural FET. Transfer the remaining 2 embies on day 16. Blood test 14 days later, alhamdulillah positive again. And here I am

Hi Ziara. That's true...kena usaha . Meds baru sampai semalam, ngeri tengok. Punya banyak. I rasa apa2 pun IVF meds sama, cuma the 'brands' je. US meds mahal giler coz' sini government tak control pricing. Ramai US patients beli online from UK or Canada pharmacy, through www.ivfmeds.com. Tapi kena hati2 jugak coz' kadang2 banyak tipu since they know how desperate women trying to get pregnant. So far the website tu many Drs here okay with it. Price depa cheaper 50% than US coz' over there the government control the price.

My medications price total is USD5000 (About RM15000++). Which kalau kat M'sia probably tak lebih dari RM3000. Alhamdullillah I buat muka tak malu mintak clinic kalau ada ubat2 yang patients depa donate. And the clinic cakap ada....so dapat free Bravelle and Menopur. So this cycle I cuma bayar USD500 for my Cetrotide (same as Ganirelix) and the HCG trigger. Alhamdullillah, rasanya Allah permudahkan so far. US IVF extremely expensive and majority tak termasuk anesthesia, ICSI, hospital, meds and such. But with determination you can get a good price.

Congrats again, so excited for you even tak kenal in person. I always happy to hear success story because I know how difficult mentally and physically our journey. To others yang masih mencuba like me, baby dust and mudah2an termakbul doa kita semua untuk menimang cahaya mata...aminnnnn.

    Ohh mahal meds kat sana ya. I thot it should be cheaper coz sana kan segala2 nya lagi advanced Dari sini hehe.
I notice your list of meds is longer than mine. I dulu 3 ubat yg I mentioned kat atas tu je, plus trigger, ovidrel ke hapa, 1 injection. Tak de tablets, all injections. But I reacted badly to buserelin, bikin kepala pusing dan uwek2 mcm dah pregnant hehe.
Kat sini kalau you pergi govt hospital boleh dapat cheaper rates. Tapi kalau kat private tu jadik macam2 rega lah..  My ubat a bit mahal coz I required high doses of gonal-f .. Again because of my age kot? Tak pe lah, yg penting kita usaha kan.
I baca kat US, some of the ivf patients are able to claim from their insurance. Kat Msia ni setau I belum Ada insurance yg cover fertility treatments.

Every health or medical in US kena guna insurance, tak de insurance you in trouble . It super expensive. We have to pay about USD500 per month for 2 of us. Then kalau gi hospital, kena co pay lagi, or you kena meet your deductible of $5000 for family first before your insurance kick in (which pay only 90%) of the cost. They only start paying after you dah paid USD5000 in treatment...gila kan? So as M'sians I rasa kita bertuah dari segi health coverage. Everybody can just walk in and no one deny. Demam je pun kat sini, baru gi cakap with Dr. dah kena $100 (About RM350), belum lagi dia start bagi ubat2.

Well, in US fertility insurance is a huge issues right now....90% of US company do not want to cover it. Cuma state like New York is mandate to have the workers covered for infertility. Like others, up to the company you work nak include or not, and 90% don't want because they said, its choice of life and not necessary. Some only covered diagnosis only. Like the company I work, only cover diagnosis, so bila dah masuk aje IUI or IVF treatment, they don't pay.

For tax pulak, you cannot claim all, its not claim, it basically tax deductible. And only can be claimed kalau expenses you lebih dari 7.5% of your gross adjusted income. Means kalau gaji you setahun lebih $75,000, tak boleh include. Itupun bukan dapat total expenses, just percentage, probably may be 10% of what you paid.

Well, ubat2 dia bagi tu is some progesterone and some I tak tau la...haha.

Yang I tau Bravelle and Menopur I kena mix in one shot as a stim.

Cetrotide - Ambik a week after stim, so eggs tak burst before the retrieval.

HCG trigger untuk trigger the eggs for maturity 2 days before retrieve.

Dexamethasone is taken to suppress the immune system and prep your body to not reject the embryos when they are transferred.

Estrace (consider estrogen) supplements to help support the growth of the endometrium (uterine lining).

Tadi my wife check darah, β-hCG dlm 8.2 mIU/mL. Refer kat hospital, mereka kata terlalu rendah utk pregnant. Tapi kat surat keputusan ada mengatakan jika Nonpregnant<5.0 . Kalau gagal kena cuba lagilah nampaknya.

    Jgn putus asa ya. Buat blood test berapa hari lepas transfer, n usia embryos berapa hari masa transfer? Sorry I bukan nak kecewakan you.. Tapi I dulu beta 24, pun considered negative. Utk day3 transfer, bloodtest 14 days after transfer, my dr cuma consider reading >50 as positive. Lepas tu I buat fet, reading 48, consider 50-50, kena repeat blood test. Bila repeat, bacaan menurun, confirm negative. Ni cerita di sjmc thn 2007 - 2009.
Kalau you buat bloodtest awal sebelum 14 hari, ada harapan utk readingnya naik, insyaallah.

Sperm ambil 15/Feb. 18/Feb embryos dimasukkan sebyk 2. Simpan lagi 4. Hari ni check darah 14 hari lepas dimasukkan. Kecewa memang kecewa tp itu semua kuasa tuhan kena redha.

Semalam check up. I dah 17 weeks. Baby's progress is fine, his weight is now 185g.
Dulu I complained tak de morning sickness kan.. Rupanya dia simpan utk 2nd trimester. Anyway, dr suspect I alahan dgn obimin plus, so sbb tu morning sickness makin teruk. Jadi I dah stop makan obimin plus and obical, ganti dgn sangobion, neurogain Dan chewable calcium.
Last check up masa scan nampak my placenta low. Alhamdulillah this time dia dah naik.
Dr said "can do everything now". Senyum simpul hubby ku

On the 22nd Feb aritu buat blood test but my beta level on the lower side, 81.7 je..
Kinda worried tapi still syukur Alhamdulillah coz I'm definitely pregnant.

So still continue 2 weeks resting and today was the 2nd checkup /vaginal scan.
Sebelum masuk shin nervous gile and of cos mengharapkan at least ada 2 sacs..huhu..

Anyway bila scan tadi, so far nampak 1 sac, alhamdulillah Allah masih mahu mengurniakan zuriat kepada shin.. am currently at 6 weeks preggy. the sac size is 3.5mm, small a bit for 6 weeks growth. Semoga my baby akan terus membesar dengan sihat sehingga melahirkan.

Next scan will be on the 23 Mar, expecting bleh dengar heartbeat, Dr Menon cakap.
Due date will be roughly on 1st Nov.
