The Prayer of Passion

I was walking through the garden
guided by the moon's soft light,
when I stumbled across this man
who was praying through the night.

This was no ordinary man,
this was the Son of Righteousness,
who had surrendered to the Will of God,
that all of humanity could be blessed.

He didn't seem to notice me
as he knelt upon his knees,
he was too busy making intercession,
bearing all the world's iniquities.

My heart began to break
as I watched him cry,
his tears fell upon the ground,
for he didn't want to die.

I wanted to comfort him,
but he would be faithful unto death,
for his destiny was the Cross
where he would draw his last breath.

Knowing that I was intruding,
I tried to walk away,
but this man had touched my heart
so I decided to watch him pray.

There was something Holy
that transpired in that place,
when the Son prayed to his Father,
a glorious love shined on his face.

In agony he threw himself
upon the cold stony ground,
his passion became even stronger
as he prepared to wear the martyr's crown.

It was too much for me,
my lips uttered a moan
when I saw his tears change into blood
as they fell upon the stones.

When he discovered my presence,
my heart started to pound with fear,
but he looked at me with sorrow,
his face stained with bloody tears.

Suddenly a mob surrounded him,
it was the time for him to die,
I never had the chance to thank the one
who prayed, suffered, and died.

Kata-katamu manis bagaikan anggur!" Ya, anggur itu mengalir kepada kekasihku dengan tak putus-putusnya, melimpah ke bibir orang-orang yang sedang tidur!

Kepunyaan kekasihku aku, kepadaku ghairahnya tertuju.

Mari, kekasihku, kita pergi ke padang, bermalam di antara bunga-bunga kekasih!Dan Wahai Umatku bebaskanlah hatimu dan lakukanlah seperti apa yang aku lakukan.

God's story

History lessons
We learn the lessons of God's Story
The Bible is the book of His story
The many genesis stories on earth.
History is dependent on the writers
who record them in various versions
in spoken words and the written words.
The stories of conflicts and encounters
of people and events past and present
who have done great and bad things.
Across many countries and nations on earth
Across many mountains,  lands and seas
Across many cultures, beliefs and values
Who can explain events of history
when they happen in the way as they
affect nations, people, sects, groups?
History makers major and minor  are
processes of a major picture from start
to the end on earth of a contemporary
period to the next for a divine purpose.
That is surely a complete God's Story.

Story-SAFE IN A TENT

True story concerning the Bedouin tribes in the Middle East. These ppl, perhaps strange to us, are rich in tradition and custom, much of which is very closely aligned to biblical teaching. These nomads are decendants of Abraham and Sarah's egyptian handmaid, Hagar, and are often to be found speaking about "our great father, Abraham." He too live in a goat-hair tent, as did Isaac and Jacob, and they would be very much at home today among these wanderes of the deseret.

@@@@@@@@@@

As two boys, Abdul and Mohammed, were climbing the rocky terrain one day, they wound up in a heated argument. Abdul struck and accidently killed Mohammed. As with otheres of different races and cultures, the Middle Eastern temper has a very low boiling point. Most of the time they vent their volatile emotions with ear-splitting cursing, flailing of their arms, and often with the flashing of gold-capped teeth. This young man had lost control, and now his friend lay dead on the stony landscape, a victim of second-degree muderer. Abdul experienced the ultimate horror. Looking down, abdul' heart sickened as he saw the limp body of his friend.
"Mohammed!" Abdul screamed.
Mohammed lay stranegly still, his neck twisted.
"Mohammed, Mohammed! Abdul shrieked, but Mohammed did not answer. Abdul shook him, trying desperately to get a response from his best friend. The Lifeless body lay twisted on the jagged rocks. Abdul began to sob, the tears stinging his weather-beaten cheeks.
Mohammed was dead.

In bedouin soceity, "an eye for an eye, life for life" still prevails. KNowing the inflexible custom of his people, this young man ran across the desert in terror until he spotted the sprawling tent of the tribal chief. The youth, gasping for air, raced to the shelter, grabbed hold of the tent peg, and scream for mercy. When the shiek heard the boy's cry he came to the door. The young man confessed his guilt and asked for protection.
It is a bedouin custom that if a fugitives grabs hold of a tent peg and pleads for protection from the owner of the tent, if the owner grants protection, he will lay down hsi life for the one one the run. It is matter of honor and duty; the integrity of the owner's name is on the line.

The sheik looked at the frantic young man, his knuckles white from gripping the tent peg so tightly. The old sheik put his hand on one of the guy-ropes of his tent and swore by Allah. "Go inside," the sheik said to the boy with a wave. "i give you my protection."
The next day, younger men who had witnessed the crime came running toward the tent, shouting, "there he is!, There's the killer!"
But the old man said "I have given my word."
Now the boy's life depended on this old Bedouin's integrity.
"Out of the way! give us the boy!" they yelled
The old Bedouin sheik stood his ground. His name was respected in the village, His word was good. If these men, intent to revenge, laid a hand on Abdul, they would have to kill the old man first.
"Stand aside sheik" a man yelled, "Gove us the boy"
The old man stood strong. "No." His voice rang out as he slipped his hand around the knife hangging around his waist.
"You dont understand" the pursuers argued. "That boy is a muderer. He has taken the life of another."
"I've promised him my protection. I will honor my oath" the sheik replied.
"do you know who he killed?" the men argued.
"It doesnt matter," the sheik replied.
One of the men blurted out, "He killed your son-your only son!"

The old man flinched as if a knife had pierced hi heart. His eyes filled with tears. There was a long silence. The old man's knees weakened. His Face tensed.
On the floor of the sheik's tent, Abdul closed hi eyes and buried his face, awaiting retaliation. Surely this was the end.
After a few moments, the old man softly spoke, "I'm an old man; I'll never be abel to have another son."
Abdul felt his heart race. I'm dead, he thought.
" i have given the boy my protection," the sheik continued, "and I will honor my oath"
"what?" THe pursuers were stunned. "How can you honor your oath when he's the one responsible for your son's death?"
In a hushed voice the sheik said again, "I am an old man. I cannot bring my son back to life. Beacuse the boy came to me in the right way, I will take him as my own son and raise him. He will live in my tent and will be my heir. All that i have will be his. He will bear my name."

@@@@@@@@@@

when i read this story chills rushed through me. This was a picture of what God has done for mankind through the death of His son Jesus.
Jus as with Abdul, enternal life or death each of us depends on our finding protection, refugee, and redemption through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.
As the Bible says "whoever call on the name of the Lord shall be saved".(Acts 2:21) The Apostle John said, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believes in His name."(John 1"12)

THE GARDEN OF THE LORD
- by Bernard Fell

God in Eden placed a garden,
In profusion planted there
Stately trees, exquisite flowers;
Pleasant fragrance filled the air.
Sweet in variform of colour,
Mingling in a radiant hue,
Roses, pansies, bluebells, daises,
Orchids, lilies, lilac, too.

In that scene of charming beauty,
God set man to keep and dress
His fair paradise with pleasure,
And maintain its loveliness.
But, alas; through disobedience,
In that garden-home came fear:
Lo! the very flowers are drooping,
With the roses thorns appear!

Now behold a sight amazing,
Jesus dies upon a tree!
In His garden; O what beauty!
Never fairer then was He!
Yet the sin of that first garden,
Thorns and sorrows, death and pain,
He must bear, and by enduring,
Brought us back to God again.

Christians! we are Christ's own garden
All sequestered for His feet,
Tended for His special pleasure,
And His presence makes it sweet.
Let the graces of the Spirit
Flow like spices in the air;
Trim the borders, keep uprooted
Weeds of sin and thorns of care.

Let the pure and tender lily,
And the humble violet fair,
Let the rose of love to others,
All combine to flourish there.
Then amid the pleasant bowers
Daily our Beloved meet:
For His pleasure and His glory
Keep His ordered garden sweet.

p/s: this poem is written in 8.7.8.7 d meter, and can be sung to any of the following tunes.. if you are familiar with traditional hymns..
- What a friend we have in Jesus
- Joyful joyful we adore Thee
- Have you any room for Jesus
- Here is love vast as the ocean
- Lamb of God, our souls adore Thee

Just got this from a friend today- an article that may be of encouragement at some point in our lives - especially during the painful times of our lives.. and i'm posting this just to share - in case someone who happens to surf by needs this..
Seriously - i do agree with this article alot - i've never found Jesus so real in my life until i truly needed Him...

Memories and the better life
How even painful memories can serve us ?
- by Rick Warren

God puts great stock in memories. He promised the children of Abraham that he would remember his promises to their father. He instructed Abraham's descendants to remember the miraculous ways he had intervened on their behalf and delivered them from trouble.

For example, when the Israelites arrived at the edge of the land God had promised to give them, they had to cross the Jordan River, which was at flood stage. But God, through Joshua, instructed the priests to step off into the swollen river. When they did, God stopped up the waters, and the people crossed the river on dry ground.

And what did God tell them to do once they got to the other side of the river? He had them build a memorial with stones collected from the river bed! He said the monument would remind them that God had held back the flood waters on that day - and be a witness so "all the nations of the earth might know the power of the LORD ...." (Josh. 4:24 NLT) God wanted there to be a permanent memory of the experience so many people could benefit from the experience, even many years later.

That was an exciting experience, but God even puts great stock in painful memories. All of us have been shaped by our experiences in life, some of which were not pleasant and most of which were beyond our control. God uses our experiences for his purpose of molding us. Our memories of family life, school years, and jobs are just three kinds of experiences that God uses to shape us - and, later, to help us find the life he uniquely created us to live.

Our painful experiences are the ones God uses the most to prepare us for the life he custom-designed us to live. Stop for a moment and think about it: Haven't your problems, hurts, thorns, and trials taught you a lot? Do you realize that God never wastes a hurt? In fact, your greatest fulfillment in life will most likely come out of your greatest hurt. Who could better help the parents of a Down syndrome child than another couple with a child afflicted in the same way? Who could better help an alcoholic recover than someone who fought that demon and found freedom? Who could better comfort a wife whose husband has left her for an affair than a woman who went through that agony herself?

God intentionally allows you to go through painful experiences to equip you for ministry to others. The Bible says, "He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When others are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us." (2 Cor. 1:4 NLT)

If you really desire to experience the better life God has in store for you, you must understand a powerful truth: The very experiences you have resented or regretted most in life - the ones you've wanted to hide and forget - are the experiences God wants to use to help others.

For God to use your painful experiences, you must remember them and be willing to share them. You have to stop putting those painful memories out of your mind. We have to honestly admit our faults, failures, and fears, instead of covering them up. Memories of our painful experiences will help us discover how God has created us to help others - and those memories will help others "know the power of the Lord." People are always more encouraged when we share how God's grace helped us in weakness than when we brag about our strengths.
Paul understood this truth, so he was honest about his experiences with depression. He admitted, "I think you ought to know, dear brothers, about the hard time we went through in Asia. We were really crushed and overwhelmed, and feared we would never live through it. We felt we were doomed to die and saw how powerless we were to help ourselves; but that was good, for then we put everything into the hands of God, who alone could save us, for he can even raise the dead. And he did help us and saved us from a terrible death; yes, and we expect him to do it again and again." (2 Cor. 1:8-10 LB)

If Paul had kept his experience of doubt and depression a secret, millions of people would never have benefited from it. Only shared experiences can help others. Aldous Huxley said, "Experience is not what happens to you. It is what you do with what happens to you." What will you do with the memories of what you've been through? Don't waste your painful memories; use them to help others.

I hope you will set aside some time solely for the purpose of making a list of the memories that are important to you - the painful ones as well as the pleasant. Those memories hold the key to discovering God's special plan for you and experiencing the better life he has in store for you..

Hey Sherlyn.. the song.. tho the words is in chinese.. it isn't sung in chinese, is it? what language is it? i can't seem to make out the language...

on the flash.. hm.. a pretty nice flash..  my first reaction was, it is very touching. but when i watched it the 2nd time, it kinda struck me that the message is a bit misleading.
the flash started with Jesus asking the boy to hold the cross untl He comes back. I can pretty much understand that's our duty as Christians on earth. But then... it seems like after Jesus left the scene.. the boy was left to hold the cross all alone.. : (
What i'm trying to say is that.. that's not really the case with us... Jesus will never leave us to hold the cross alone. He will never leave us,.. and He will always be here to hold cross with us!

yup! very nice one..

but for me, the message was to tell people how Jesus has gone through those suffering at the cross but certainly He will never leave us nor forsake us.. for sure, He will come back to us..

I don't know.. everybody has different perception after watching the flash movie.. but to me.. the message was positive!

God bless!

Hey there Sherlyn..

no no no.. this is not to say that the flash doesn't have a positive meaning. One thing about the flash is... yes - it encourages us to carry the cross for Jesus all the more... even in times of storms.. so that's one big positive meaning.
But i guess, in my personal experiences.. the Lord has always been with me in all my sufferings (and it is in my sufferings when i get really really close to the Lord).. which is why i felt that He's kinda "missing" in the flash.. and somehow, there was just this picture in my mind... of the Lord Jesus holding the cross together with me..

It's just me i guess.. i have a vivid imagination..

The flash reminds me of a lil poem..

My cross I抣l carry till the crown appears,
The way I journey soon will end;
Where God Himself shall wipe away all tears,
And friend hold fellowship with friend.
