Assalamualaikum, Mum dah lama jengah - jengah kat thread sini. Nak mintak tolong sket. Anybody knows about this author - Jean M Auel? She's famous for her Earth Children's books. In fact, her first book in this series, The Clan Of The Cave Bear pernah dijadikan movie. Pernah disiarkan kat M'sia nih.

Mum dah ada 4 buku dia and am searching for the 5th book - Shelters Of The Stone. Dah 4 tahun published and I'm still searching for it.

Kalau you all nak tau pasal buku dia, ni serba sedikit pasal buku Jean Auel.

The Books
Plot and/or ending details follow.

The Clan of the Cave Bear was originally released in September 1980. It introduces Ayla, the main character of the series, a Cro-Magnon child orphaned in an earthquake and wounded by a cave lion who is adopted by a group of Neanderthals who call themselves 'the Clan of the Cave Bear'.

The Valley of Horses was originally released in September 1982. Ayla, cast out of the Clan, goes in search of the Others. She settles in a small valley for the winter and lives alone there for three years. At the same time, a Zelandonii man by the name of Jondalar begins a long Journey with his brother.

The Mammoth Hunters was originally released in Fall 1985. Ayla and Jondalar visit a tribe known as the Mamutoi, or Mammoth Hunters, who live near Ayla's valley. The Mamutoi adopt Ayla, and she and Jondalar's love is threatened by Ayla's brief affair with Ranec, a member of the camp.

The Plains of Passage was originally released in November 1990. Ayla and Jondalar travel west, back to Zelandonii territory, encountering dangers from both nature and humans along the way.

( Buku yang Mum tengah cari..)
The Shelters of Stone was originally released on the 30 April 2002, and is the most recent novel of the series. Ayla and Jondalar reach the Ninth Cave of the Zelandonii, Jondalar's home, and prepare to tie the knot and have a child. Unfortunately, nothing is ever simple, especially not with Ayla's background.

The Setting
As the stories take place during the Ice Age, populations are small in number, surviving mostly in sedentary hunter-gatherer fashion. Prior to the discovery of metal, flint is the primary medium for the creation of tools.

Pleeeeeaseeeee bagitau or P.M Mum kalau ada sesiapa yang tahu where or how I can get the book. Thanks.

i have heard of her before, rasanya pernah ada coverage pasal Jean M Auel dalam the star. but it was a long time ago..

Jean M. Auel married at 18, by 25 had five children, then in l964 at the age of 28 started college, night courses, and worked full time at an electronics firm. She studied maths, physics and electronics, while progressing from clerical work, to circuit board design, to technical writer, to credit manager.

She entered an MBA programme and was granted the degree in l976. Then, in l977, she had an idea to write a story about a young woman who lived during the Ice Age. A love of reading, an insatiable curiosity, and a penchant for research led to hours with books from the library which resulted in a long first draft for a six-part novel that became, instead, an outline for a six-book series.

Additional library research, supplemented by field courses that included making stone tools, building a snow cave, and brain-tanning buckskin, plus travel to both western and eastern Europe, have helped to flesh out the details for Earth's Children®

That's why. Buku dia ni dah lama dah. First time I came across her book was around late 80's, masa kat rumah makcik. Kalau siapa yang tak suka baca fictional books memang lah tak minat.

Mekna, insya'allah kalau gi sana nanti kito caghi yoooo!
