Does the GPU really affect's gaming performance?? (e.g : FPS/frame-per second)
I see a P4 1.7 Ghz with GF FX 5200 runs far more smoother than mine P4 2.66 Ghz with ATI 9250.....
Sorry if this is a noobish question....
I'm not good at PC hardwares.... |

my Old p3 - 866MHz run faster than Celeron-D 2.6GHz.
in terms of simple file processing, boot time and few simple task.
it depends on how u TWEAK / customize your computer. |

Forgotten to ask...
Does the 'bit' on the GPU affect the perfomance too? :
ATI 9250 128 MB 64-bit |

i think there are veeery few graphic application that runs 128bit grphics.
64bit is enough for now. for gaming and normal task, windows XP runs on 32bit.
i wonder what program runs on 128bit. :hmm:
my PCI-express is nVidia 6500 128bit, 128mb.
but none of my software and games are using the 128bit grphic.
feels like wasted. :nerd: |

Alright... it was like this :
I opened Silkroad Online as an example , and it runs very slow (Around 1x~2x FPS) on my PC
But the P4 1.7 Ghz with GFX 5200 runs the game smoothly at like (3x~6x FPS) without any probs...
So , should I change the GPU or what?
If I should , should I go for GFX 5200/5500 or ATI 9550??
(My mobo only support 8X AGP...) |

I know that ATI 9550 was better than FX5200...
But wasn't FX5500 enough?
Oh yea.... and I see a lot of different brand for each AGP card....
Like Forsa , MSI , ECS , etc...
It's just the same right? |

no, the different between brand is the package itself, eg : type of capasitor, heatsink, games, software, overclock ability... |
