Beach Volleyball: Shun Thing-Teck Hua eye semi-final berths

MALAYSIA扴 Beh Shun Thing and Luck Teck Hua will compete in Hyderabad, India, on July 5-7, which is part of the US$25,000 (RM87,500 Asian Beach Volleyball circuit.
Shun Thing and Teck Hua, who are the country抯 leading pair in beach volleyball, won the Indonesian Open earlier this month.
Though the duo eye another good outing, coach Lim Poh Hong has not set any target.
"It抯 not practical for me to set targets at this stage as I do not know who are the participating teams. But I hope they can qualify for the semi-finals," she said.
Shun Thing and Teck Hua have so far enjoyed a good year, with a top eight finish in the Asian Championship in Thailand, and second place in the Vietnam Tour, before winning the Indonesian Open title.
They are now seen as Malaysia抯 best hope of winning the Sea Games gold in Korat in December.
The other Malaysians who will compete in Hyderabad are Luk Teng Kee-Iswari Manokharan (women) and Khoo Chong Lon and Muhd Rafiq Arumi Abd Latif, and Muhamad Fitri Salim and Rafi Asruki Nordin (men).
The team will leave on July 3 with Poh Hong and Shamsaimon Mohd Sharit, the men抯 team抯 coach. |
