- They have a close to invulnerable AV
Itsure is important to have AV protection, I know I said it a milliontimes before, but what happens when your anti-virus becomes aliability? Well, if your AV is vulnerable, then so is your machine. What抯 the use of having a huge virus signature database ifthe program has a flaw that would enable a hacker to take control ofyour computer? So yes, this is possible |

Kaspersky Best Antivirus - Windows Live OneCare Fails Miserably
- In antivirus test conducted by the Anti-Malware Test Lab
Microsoft'slatest full version of its antivirus, Windows Live OneCare 1.6 hasfailed miserably a test conducted by the Anti-Malware Test Lab. TheRedmond company's solution was easily surpassed in terms of performanceby rival product from heavyweights of the security industry such asKaspersky, Symantec and McAfee. In fact, the recently launchedKaspersky Internet Security 7.0, tailor fitted and certified forWindows Vista, has proved to be the best antivirus out of the pool of15 products tested. Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 is the onlysecurity solution that received the Gold Self-Protection Award from theAnti-Malware Test Lab as it managed to successfully block 97% of all attacks thrown against it.
"In the test, we analyzed the self-protection capabilities of antivirussolutions that run under Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 2.Self-protection from the following types of attacks was analyzed:Modification of file and registry key access permissions; Modification/ removal of modules; Deletion of antivirus databases; Modification /deletion of important registry keys; Process termination; Modificationof processes / code and Driver unloading," revealed Sergey Ilyin fromthe Anti-Malware Test Lab.
Microsoft Windows Live OneCare 1.6managed to deliver one of the lowest scores in the test. In factOneCare only blocked 32% of attacks, delivering a performance equallyworse to DrWeb and superior only to BitDefender Internet Security 10with an attack blocking rate of just 30%. Among the other securityproducts that failed the antivirus test from Anti-Malware Test Lab areSophos Anti-Virus 6.0, Avira Premium Security Suite 7.0 and Avast!Professional Edition 4.7 all having stopped just 33% of attacks.
"Testing was conducted on a specially prepared test stand running underVMware GSX Server. A "clean" Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 2virtual machine was cloned for each antivirus product. The defaultsettings recommended by each product vendor were used when installingthe antivirus products. All of the actions recommended by theinstallation programs (e.g., system restart, updating, etc.) wereperformed. All protection components that were not automaticallyenabled after installation were enabled manually," reads a fragment ofthe Antivirus product self-protection testing methodology from theAnti-Malware Test Lab.
OneCare fully blocked only three attacks, it partially stopped 15 andit completely missed the remaining 15. By comparison, Kaspersky killed31 attacks, while only two raised issues and generated a partial blockfrom the Russian antivirus. Symantec Internet Security 2007, VBA32Antivirus 3.11 and F-Secure Internet Security 2007 stopped between 61%and 71% of attacks. At the same time, ZoneAlarm Internet Security 7.0,Panda Internet Security 2007, McAfee Internet Security 2007, ESET SmartSecurity 3.0 Beta and Trend Micro PC-Cillin 2007 failed to pass the 60%milestone.
"In recent testing conducted by Anti-Malware Test Lab, KasperskyInternet Security scores the best results for self-protection againstmalicious programs. Anti-Malware Test Lab, a respected IT securityresearch project, recently published the results of its analysis inwhich the 15 most popular antivirus products were tested," Kasperskyboasted. "According to Sergey Ilyin, the author of the test, 'only Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0, which scored 97% of possible points, can effectively resist attacks.'"

Windows Security: Why Kaspersky Is Better Than NOD32
- Here抯 one reason!
Youcan抰 always tell which is the best anti-virus for your machine, as allthe vendors will claim they deliver top-notch solutions, that they areleaders on the market and all that. Also, you often get facts statingthat in some test a certain anti-virus ranked first, but they rarelystate what competition they had. In any case, in view of recent events, Kaspersky beats the crap out ofNOD32; and I will give you some facts and explain why it is so.
A computer with NOD32 and Windows XP SP2 had been infected by severalTrojans. The AV found two of them and no matter how many times youwould delete them, they would still pop up after rebooting. NOD32 couldnot disinfect the files, it just deleted them. That was pretty nasty.Couldn抰 get rid of the threats! Cmd didn抰 help much either |

Kaspersky Gets More Expert Help!
- Now collaborates with PhishTank
Kaspersky Lab has announced that anti-phishing databases provided by PhishTank have been incorporated into the Anti-Phishing module of Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0. Just the other day, I had an article about PhishTank that reported the general situation of phishing.
It抯 great to see that experts cooperate with each other for thebenefit of us users. I抳e always said Kaspersky Lab deserves its placeamongst the leaders on the market and this piece of news just comes toprove it. The security solutions they offer will help the ones thataren抰 tech-savvy. If some people don抰 know what to click on whentheir firewall prompts them, well, with software protection against phishing, it抯 all going to be fool-proof!
"We are glad to include the data provided by PhishTank among thephishing databases used in our Anti-Phishing module. In the relativelyshort time since the launch of PhishTank, it has developed into apowerful resource that greatly contributes to the cause of combatingonline fraud. The PhishTank anti-phishing databases will enable us tooffer more effective protection from attacks of cybercriminals forusers of our products. We not only take advantage of the servicesprovided by PhishTank, but also actively support this resource byproviding it with all the information about phishing resources that isavailable to us," says Nikolay Grebennikov, deputy director ofInnovative Technologies at Kaspersky Lab.
An earlier sign that these two would cooperate was when this summerPhishTank granted Kaspersky Lab a "Star Phish Award" in recognition ofits contribution to the cause of fighting back against phishing.
If you抳e been reading till now and are thinking "OK, so Kasperskyprotects me against phishing |

Saya dah install piratenyer kaspersky version 7. Dan tadi baru beli Version 7 harga rm50 kat Sri Computers .
Ada beberapa soalan:
1. Haruskan uninstall yang pirate dan install yang original? atau pakai je yang pirate dan letakkan no siri baru?
2. Berapa lama license utk Kaspersky ek? Setahun ker?
3. kalau dlm sthn tu, komp sama kena format..boleh tak, install sekali lagi kaspersky?

1. Takyah uninstall... guna jer serial/license baru.
2. Licence dia setahun
3. Boleh reinstall and guna semula license tu.
Apa nak cuak pakai yang ori? Ori nyer ko boleh update tanpa ragu2 or problems. And apa2 problem ngan AV tu ko boleh contact Kaspersky terus. |
