salamz semua,

nak tanya korang tau tak price range for SAN storage 30TB. AKu tak nampak la price range harganya.. dapat some info price dalam 600k-800k.. kalau ada idea sila bagi ye.. nak prepare budget.. ok.. thanks semua....

that sounds about right. depends also, what type... cx200, cx400, etc. we ordered extra 4.5TB last year and cost about US$24k. i believe, you're starting from scratch, right? why not ask emc directly, they probably can guide you base on your needs. we deal with dell and very easy (of course, being preferred customer helps a lot).

ni guna SCSI bro .. aku rasa budget untuk harddisk mau cecah RM300-400k ... pasal mau extra untuk RAID lagi ...

others macam fiber channel switches , kabe fiber lagi ... aku rasa mau RM100k gak ...

total space= 45 TB
FC (connect to 5 servers) = 2 bijik
EMC CX4 base = 1
disk array enclosure = 6 (to hold max 90 HDD 450GB)
PCI express FC HBA (put at servers) = 10
an dothers bende kecik and warranty pro

total price = RM1.7 million..

yup start from scratch.. existing data that wel will handle from other organization is about 21 TB ...i estimated that data grow will range 4-5 TB per year...

OObi what ur idea in term of backup for this big size of data?

well, banyak options. if you could provide more detail, much more easier to recommend. for example, how much data do you backup on daily, weekly, monthly basis, etc. - incremental, differential and full? is this for the next five years forecast or quite a long term?

for us, we use IBM TS3310 (with four drives - LTO4) with Netbackup. One tape can hold up to 1.2TB of data compress (could be 1.6TB, forgot). but, the cost is very expensive. there are cheaper options though.

i akan paste network architecture isnin ni..
but in term of backup.. i tak sure la.. because data terlalu besar.. and i tak dpt idea how the data will backup or store.
we will discuss lagi isnin ni.. ok..
