aku cek latest linux perlukan ram setinggi 512mb utk run smoothly.
aku try install ubuntu hardy KDE (installer cd - bukan live cd) dah siap install, lembab tak hengat.
so aku install knoppix baru le leh pakai. tu pun masih sangkut2.
korang ada cadangan tak linux yg paling best utk Pentium 3 - 667MHz, ram 128mb, hdd 10gb. grafik onboard 1mb saja.

Xubuntu releases:
* 9.04, codename Jaunty Jackalope (newest stable release).
* 8.04.1, codename Hardy Heron, includes Long Term Support.
Minimum system requirements
You need 192 MB RAM to run the Live CD or 128 MB RAM to install. The Alternate Install CD only requires you to have 64 MB RAM at install time. To install Xubuntu, you need 1.5 GB of free space on your hard disk. Once installed, Xubuntu can run with starting from 192 (or even just 128) MB RAM, but it is strongly recommended to have at least 256 MB RAM.
aku pun teringat ada 1 pc lama giler, dapat free.. tapi rasa cam tak konfiden je nak run
xubuntu. |

linux ni memory hog aku rasa.. memory kena tinggi.. klu memory takat 128, susah sikit nak survive.. merangkak la.. jenuh gak tunggu tu nak loading certain program.. ntah la.. dh lama tak guna.. last guna pun kira2 tahun 2003 or awal lagi.. game tak menarik.. masa tu game bukan bnyk choice pun untuk linux.. ingat lagi nak kena install wine atau winex nak main game yang khas tuk windows.. kena cari driver lagi yang comaptible ngan game tu.. nak lagi yang 3d cam quake arena.. kelakar gak rasanya kena buat semua tu... buang masa.. quality pun lebih kurang je.. tu pun nasib kalau dapat run game tu.. kan guna windows senang.. pastu fedup terus

About Puppy Linux
Puppy Linux is yet another Linux distribution. What's different here is that Puppy is extraordinarily small, yet quite full featured.
Puppy boots into a 64MB ramdisk, and that's it, the whole caboodle runs in RAM. Unlike live CD distributions that have to keep pulling stuff off the CD, Puppy in its entirety loads into RAM.
This means that all applications start in the blink of an eye and respond to user input instantly. Puppy Linux has the ability to boot off a flash card or any USB memory device, CDROM, Zip disk or LS/120/240 Superdisk, floppy disks, internal hard drive.
It can even use a multisession formatted CD-R/DVD-R to save everything back to the CD/DVD with no hard drive required at all! |
