Polis mengesahkan lelaki berusia 31 tahun dipercayai mendera anak teman wanitanya di Projek Perumahan Rakyat (PPR) Desa Rejang, Setapak, di sini mempunyai lapan rekod kes jenayah dan lima kes dadah.


Menurutnya, pihaknya turut menjalankan ujian saringan air kencing dan didapati positif dadah.

"Kita mendapatkan perintah reman selama tujuh hari bermula hari ini sehingga 15 Jun depan.


"Siasatan dijalankan mengikut Seksyen 31 (1)(a) Akta Kanak-Kanak 2001, Seksyen 15 (1) Akta Dadah Berbahaya 1952 dan Peraturan 25 Akta Pendaftaran Negara apabila didapati memegang kad pengenalan milik orang lain," katanya pada sidang media di Ibu pejabat Kontinjen (IPK) Kuala Lumpur, hari ini.


Mohd Shuhaily berkata, siasatan mendapati suspek yang juga penganggur berkenalan dan tinggal bersama ibu mangsa sejak dua bulan lalu.


"Kejadian dera itu dipercayai berlaku berpunca disebabkan bayi itu aktif sehingga suspek bertindak demikian," katanya.


Semalam, Timbalan Ketua Polis Daerah Wangsa Maju, Deputi Superintenden D Saralathan dilaporkan berkata, suspek terbabit ditahan di sebuah pangsapuri di Jinjang, Sentul.


Berdasarkan maklumat, lelaki berusia 31 tahun itu dipercayai memukul mangsa kerana dikatakan bising.


"Dia didakwa memukul hingga mangsa bengkak pada bibir dan lebam kedua-dua mata serta bahagian belakang badan dan dihantar ke Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) untuk pemeriksaan dan rawatan lanjut," katanya.
