Plant Profile, Culture and Propagation :
- Botanical Name: Loropetalum chinense var. rubrum ‘Burgundy’ or ‘Sizzling Pink’
- Common Name: Chinese Fringe Flower, Chinese Witch Hazel, Pink Chinese Loropetalum, Burgundy Loropetalum
- Family name: Hamamelidaceae
- Plant type: An evergreen perennial ornamental shrub, native to China, Southeast Asia and Japan.
- Light: Prefers full sun but can be sited at partial shade to shade areas.
- Moisture: Normal to moist, though can be quite heat and drought tolerant once well established.
- Soil: It’s adaptable to a wide range of soil types but must be well-drained. Sandy loam and acidic soil is preferred.
- Propagation: Easily propagated from soft or firm stem cuttings. Can be grown from seed as well.
- Features: Originating from the Hunan province of China, Loropetalum chinense var. rubrum (Pink Chinese Loropetalum) has different growth habit and a wide variety of flower and foliage colors. It is an evergreen ornamental shrub/tree that matures between 6-10 feet tall with an equal spread, depending on the cultivar. Some species have upright growth habit maturing as trees, others are compact and shrubby, or prostrate-like with their slender arching branches.

yee cantik buat hiasan...bunga pun x bmusim..n boleh d letak direct bwh matahari...
makin kuat matahari, makin terang warna daun pokok ni...kaler daun dari hijau ke ungu n ke merah jingga....klu d letak pada tempat teduh, daun akn lebih banyak kpd hijau...pjagaan x susah, 2x sehari, n tahan lasak pokok ni..klu termiss siram pun x mudah kojol le...
boleh juga d buat bonsai...tp saya x penah cuba le..sbb mmg x minat bonsai...klu ada yg penah tu..kongsi le...hehehe |

yup...kebanyakkan org lagi suka buat bonsai...klu d nursery pun banyak yg jual tu dah d buat bonsai...tp ada yg x le...yg saya ambik dulu, biasa je...bukan yg siap d bonsaikan ..hehehe |

rasanya kat rumah tu pokok ni la kot. ada amik 3 pokok. memang ingat nak bonsaikan. sebab penah tgk ada satu kat kedai cina, dia buat bonsai. sangat cantik..  |

aha...pasal bunga dia pelik, xputus2 bbunga...saya beli juga...pokok ni tahan lasak...rasanya bukan akak ade ke pokok ni..kat nursery banyak yg d buat bonsai... |
