Plastering using ropes is one of the manifestations caused by the blockade on the Gaza Strip and the lack of construction materials, which has led to rise the prices of these materials.

With the acute shortage of building materials entering the Gaza Strip, because of the Israeli siege imposed on the Gaza Strip since 8 years, the process of internal and external walls plastering has become restricted to the affluent people and those who are able to provide the cement needed to complete the process, as well as those who are forced to buy cement with high prices from the black markets to repair the walls of their homes which leaking rainwater.
Among the most daily prominent observations in the Gaza Strip , is that some of the citizens who live in a multi-storey family buildings, are plastering the floor of their own only , depending on what they can be supplied from the cement and other materials needed for the process of plastering , and the most prominent thing here in this matter is that the workers are plastering using ropes down from the surface to the upper floors , which they want to plaster , especially if the floors are high, and so to save time , efforts and cost in the event of shared props ( Bokoum ) from the ground up to the only floor they want to plaster , forgetting at the same time the danger which they expose themselves to, when they use the ropes in plastering , in order to preserve their profession and livelihood .
