Yang biasa kita dengar macam buku Peter and Jane, Grolier, Geronimo etc. Korang beli buku apa untuk anak-anak korang? Cer bagi review sikit.
Baru-baru ni aku ada terbaca pasal buku Biff, Chip and Kipper. Macam menarik jugak buku ni. Perkataan-perkataan dalam buku tu memang simple dan sesuai sangat untuk anak-anak yang baru bertatih-tatih nak belajar reading. Ilustrasi dalam buku pun menarik. Tapi macam susah pulak nak jumpa buku tu kat Malaysia ni. Kalau buku Peter and Jane atau Geronimo tu mmg berlambak and senang nak jumpe. Dengar nya lagi Biff, Chip and Kipper ni dah ala-ala macam buku teks untuk budak-budak tadika (Reception) kat UK nun.
Lagi satu buku yang aku rasa macam agak menarik jugak Buku Dr Seuss. Antaranya A Classic Tales with Dr Seuss: A Cat with a Hat.
Janji buku kanak-kanak.
Moh kite berdiskusi perihal buku kanak-kanak. Sharing is Caring.

buku2 eric carle pun ok jugak
selalunya saya beli buku budak2 dekat big bad wolf. boleh borong sekali
tengok umur anak & perkembangan dia.. kalau baru nak membaca, cari buku yg font besar, ayat yg tak banyak sangat. content & wording pun tak susah sangat, yg dia boleh relate. anak saya suka buku series maisy sebab gambar dia simple, color striking & ayat pun pendek2 aje.
kadang2 bila dah baca satu page tu (eg pasal goes shopping at supermarket) kena creatif tanya dia org..
cari benda circle/ color red dlm page tu.. atau..
kalo adik yg pegi supermarket.. adik suka beli apa? kenapa?
involve kan dia org dlm cerita tu.. mmg seronok lah dia org... tu yg asyik kena ulang2 baca aje
just my two cents |

ai pun borong dkt bbwolf. bnyk pilihan, buku2 jauh lebih mnarik, n cheaper.
awal2 ai beli buku mcm2, xde specific sgt pun. once dh tahu minat dia, lebihkn beli buku yg dia minat. beli board book instead of paper so tahan lasak. buku yg lebih bnyk gambar, less words, yg interactive (require them to lift flaps, pull tabs, feel textures, flip, peek, press, slide n so on).

The cover to Just Enough, by Allie Hill Book News
This new picture book has ‘Just Enough’ magic for readers ByTERENCE TOH Related ArticlesAll things Malaysian in these new books for childrenDays of drooling dogsOne of the benefits of growing up with a tailor as your mother: you will always have beautiful clothes to wear.
Author Allie Hill has fond memories of her mother, who worked very hard to support her and her two older sisters while she was growing up. Despite their family not being very well-to-do, Hill never felt poor; in fact, she always felt there was “just enough” to go around.
“She had this way of making us feel that we never wanted for anything. Whenever she could find the time, my mother would make me dresses. And even if she didn’t have enough of one fabric, she would mix and match a few pieces. There was always just enough to make me something,” recalls Hill, 45, who lives in Kuala Lumpur.
This enchanting theme of “just enough”, that love always finds a way to make things work out, is the backbone of Hill’s latest picture book, appropriately titled Just Enough.
The book is written and illustrated by Hill and published by MPH Group Publishing; it was released in December 2016. It tells of Amelia, a little girl with a big, colourful blanket given to her by her grandmother. As she grows up, her blanket becomes more and more worn, but her grandmother always manages to clear away the tattered bits and turn it into something new and exciting.
Just Enough is inspired by Hill’s mother and was shaped by Hill’s experiences reading picture books to Sasha, her 10-year-old daughter. Some of Sasha’s drawings can also be found in parts of the book.
Hill’s book is told completely in rhyme, which the author says was one of the most challenging parts of writing it.

“I wanted to make the reading not so boring, I wanted a rhythm to it, a cadence. One of my favourite writers is Julia Donaldson, of The Gruffalo fame, and all her books rhyme! Her prose is deceptively simple,” Hill says with a laugh.
“And, of course, two verses into it, I wanted to give up! When I could make the story rhyme, the story would lari (run). It wasn’t easy getting the gist of the story into four lines, four lines, four lines!”
Indeed, the whole process of writing a book was challenging for Hill – as a graphic designer, she is more comfortable making books for other people. Her previous project, Buds For Kids, is a book for an organic children’s products company.
Which is why the 36-page Just Enough took almost three years to finish, with Hill writing at intervals during that period; she credits her editor, Oon Yeoh, and her friend and writing mentor, Alex Lim, for helping her keep at it.
‘Strictly, this is a read-aloud book for young ones, but I also think it’s for anyone who enjoys being read to in bed,’ says Hill. Photo: The Star/Raja Faisal Hishan
“It’s taken a kampung to make this book. I gave up many times. But in the end, I realised I had been given a lot of support and love and encouragement from people who believed in this story more than I did, and I felt that I should finish the book to honour them and the creative collaborative process we went through.
“That’s my favourite way to work, by collaborating with other people.”
While the book may be aimed at children, Hill hopes that readers in other age groups will also be able to enjoy Just Enough.
“I’ve never liked putting age limits on books, especially illustrated ones. Strictly, this book is a read-aloud book for young ones, but I think it’s also for anyone who enjoys being read to in bed,” the author says.
Whoever reads it, parent or child, Hill hopes that they will enjoy the book’s simple yet touching message.
“If they enjoy reading it and enjoy the pictures, I think I’ve done my job. But what would be fantastic is if the book rekindles memories and makes them feel reconnected to a little of their past,” Hill says.

“If it brings back good memories and inspires them to think about contentment in what they have, that would be great!”
