Principal photography began in Toronto on June 27, 2016, and ended on September 21, 2016. The film also shot around Port Hope, Oshawa, Ontario and Riverdale, Toronto. It is scheduled to be released in the United States on September 8, 2017.

Since the record-breaking trailer for the IT movie aired earlier this year, movie fans have been pointing out how the new horror has that Stranger Things feel to it.

After all, it follows a group of kids – one of whom stars in the hit Netflix show – in 1980s America, as supernatural events keep taking place.

Of course, Stranger Things was partly inspired by Stephen King’s work, so it’s not that surprising.

Nevertheless fans of Stranger Things will be pleased to know that the IT movie director’s plans for the Part 2, are sounding even more similar to the TV show.
