Chain Story - Buku Berantai Versi English

The dark form shows a man holding a sharp object as if to stab someone. As the end of the shadow gets nearer and nearer to where Maria is hiding, she screamed on top of her voice.
The man was startled by her action and he screamed too. He dropped the object from his hand and it landed with a splat on the floor.
It was only a Cornetto Ice Cream, noticed Maria. What a waste.

She went to kitchen , picked up the rag and started cleaning up the mess. It was not a sight she could bear to see. She gave a long and heavy sigh....

It was Daniel.
"Let me help you, Maria" said Daniel whilst pulling the end of the rag.
"No, I can do it, its okay" said Maria and pulling the other end of the rag.
"I'll do it" pleaded Daniel pulling harder at the rag.
"No, I'll do it" insisted Maria pulling at her end.
After a few more pulls between them, in what it seems like a childish play, the rag was torn in two pieces.
"Now, we do it together", laughed them both.

Having Daniel in the house was just like the old times. On my part , despite the confusion I was going through , I still enjoy his company. But what about him ???? What's his main motive for his sudden appearance ????

We are at the den. Facing each other. Silence reigns.

I kept eyeing Daniel furtively. What are you up to, Daniel?

Daniel stares into the space in front of him broodingly. Not a word passed through his manly lips.

This is getting nowhere!

"What do you want, Daniel?". I grabbed the bull by the horns.

He smiled.

The smile that used to melt my heart away. He seems composed and calm. Slowly , he pulled both my hands and hold them in his palm. He looked at me earnestly.....

"I dont want to let you go....." he said in his most confident voice.

Suddenly, the mood was broken by the sound of my mobile. Oh no! It's David. How could I forget him!

Maria hummed in tune with the ringing tones until it stopped. Luckily she had redirected earlier all incoming calls to her voicemail. Noticing Daniel's curious look, she quickly hold back his hands and said, " Nice tune, isn't it?Now where were we? Shall we continue?".

Maria became flabbergasted as mixed emotions ran through her mind.

"Hmm... er erhmm.....where were we ?" she asked hesitantly.

Daniel burst out, "Maria, I still love you. I don't want to lose you."

My God! What is Daniel up to now. What kind of charade is this?

"I think you've uttered the phrase for the 10,837th times to me, Daniel. Your cheek muscles must be aching by now." said Maria, figuratively speaking. Quite offending but straight to the point, as if Daniel's lips have become automatic in saying those words.
"If sorry seems to be the hardest words, Daniel, then I'll bend, beat, squeeze and press it until it's soft again and present it to you again to let you understand my point. I'm SORRY."

Dainel was in dilemma whether to say again those phrase for the 10,838th times or otherwise. Its obvious now that Maria has not reciprocate her feelings towards him. He has become judgmental on Maria's moods and actions when they were together.

Daniel's thoughts wanders away. He thought of eating chocolate right now,so as to relax him a bit. Cadbury would be just nice.
