As far as I'm concerned, credible criticism of any genre comes only from a mind that appreciates (and therefore understands) that genre. I'd be far more likely to accept the criticism of members of this forum who, it should be noted, do not uncritically and unconditionally adore books just because they have literature value, Clearly there is artistry and crap in every fiction genres. Therefore the pooh-poohing an entire genre(for example a new chic-lit genre) suggests to me the envious self-justifying rationalization of someone who doesn't get it, and would rather spoil the party for everyone else who loves particular genre than accept the fact.

By the way,how we define a snob?
