a) Otherwise, your computer is connected to the router:
- Make sure proxies are not enabled. If using Internet Explorer, select Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings. Uncheck "Use a proxy server for your LAN....".
- Delete offline contents. Select Tools > Internet Options > Delete Files. Select Delete all offline content, and click OK. (This is to clear any possible previous router log on page.)
- Try accessing with a different computer, or with the Netscape browser, if you have it.
- Delete cookies. WARNING. Do not do this if it's possible Web sites you visit need cookie information such as your logins and passwords.
b) Power off the router, and power it back on again.
c) If you still cannot log on to the router, then do a hard reset on the router.
d) If you know how, check the computer's IP address and DHCP. The IP should be in the 192.168.0.x range, and DHCP should be enabled. |

router ni macam tangki air. lagi senang kalu aku kata; tangki internet.

tak jugak.. ur pc ada ip sendiri.. tp pc bukan router kan?
ping adalah command untuk memastikan some device (pc,router, firewall) reacheable or not.. kalau ada reply maknanya ur pc can conenct that device.. ada network ok..
tp tak semua ada reply.. if that device block this command.. |

you can connect your router to pc, switch or hub when you want to configure it. it usually never interfere with the modem, if your modem is not a router also. 192.168.x.x is an internal address. so, if your modem is not a router, it usually doesn't have that address. it will only have WAN address (WAN address usually doesn't start with 192.168.x.x). therefore, a conflict will never occur. even if your WAN and LAN address on the router is the same, the router is intelligent enough to recognize that you're trying to contact internal address, as you can't contact external address (no direct access - router handles this).
as long as you have only one router, there should not be an issue to connect to it to configure the router with usually default ip address, 192.168.1.1 (even if you have devices connected to it already).

wan address tu cerita lainlah kena bukak bab lain lah pulok |

thanks for the explanation. i'm still learning about this.
however, to my knowledge, modem yang ada ip address adalah modem that has routing capability. in other words, it's an integrated modem +router. a modem only device tak de ip address and cannot route traffic. it's used only to translate and deliver requests.
if your modem is not an integrated router, your LAN ip is the same as your WAN ip. and it doesn't usually start with 192.168.x.x. this is when you need to buy router, if you want to allow more device to access internet. if your modem is also a router (integrated), you'll have two ip addresses - your WAN ip from your isp (usually doesn't start from 192.168.x.x) and your LAN ip (usually 192.168.1.1, default config from device manufacturer).
if you have only one router in your LAN (either integrated with your modem or not), then you don't have to worry about ip conflict because ip 192.168.1.1 is always set for the router (you can change it though) - default config.
