LITERATURE REVIEW thesis

saya rasa kena tulis jugak pasal benda ni. Bila habis thesis presentation kita dapati masih ada budak uni tak didedahkan sangat pasal literature review and in terms of manipulating the data. Ada beza kita hanya melaporkan literature review dengan kita sintesis maklumat.

so sesiapa yg you know nak bantu kawan - kawan or nak kembangkan idea silakanlah.

ermmm....setahu me lah kan, masa buat literature review, memang SUPERVISOR melarang keras kita kembangkan idea ikut kefahaman sendiri....

bahagian kita nanti masa kat akhir,..keputusan kajian

tak tahulah kalo kat uni lain...me dah masak kena panggang dgn supervisor...

A Literature review is a body of text that aims to review the critical points of current knowledge on a particular topic.

Most often associated with science-oriented literature, such as a thesis, the literature review usually precedes a research proposal, methodology and results section. Its ultimate goal is to bring the reader up to date with current literature on a topic and forms the basis for another goal, such as the justification for future research in the area.

A good literature review is characterised by: a logical flow of ideas; current and relevant references with consistent, appropriate referencing style; proper use of terminology; and an unbiased and comprehensive view of the previous research on the topic.

According to Cooper (1988) "a literature review uses as its database reports of primary or original scholarship, and does not report new primary scholarship itself. The primary reports used in the literature may be verbal, but in the vast majority of cases reports are written documents. The types of scholarship may be empirical, theoretical, critical/analytic, or methodological in nature. Second a literature review seeks to describe, summarise, evaluate, clarify and/or integrate the content of primary reports".

setahu saya, literature review harus/wajib/mesti ditulis berdasarkan sumber2 yang sahih seperti journal, buku etc. apa2 idea kita sepatutnya masuk dalam results and discussion.



p/s:  i'm not sure sama ada thread ini sesuai atau tidak diletakkan di sini memandangkan terdapat bod yg lebih sesuai seperti bod LASKIP dan bod School Problems and Unemployed Graduates.Anyway, memandangkan saya rasa ramai forumer di sini yang pernah membuat thesis, boleh kiranya berkongsi information pasal topic ni.

ini ada kaitan dengan crtical thinking. Ini ada sangkut paut dengan you can't just  reporting on the data that you've just read bUT INTERPRET. Baru ada markah.
It's basically written like a story cmtu .. or more on historically interprete what have they found , what haven't not  , why this is important.

sebab, bukan apa ada yg tak tahu nak make sense of the reviews that they have got or tak faham  or ada yg tak tahu cari.

literature review is more about analysis the data that you have.
its like an innovation of ideas.
in my way, i have my own stand and i have to have valid literature sources to prove my points.
pastu la yg kena buat references n bibliography berlambak2.
yg i tau...if you're writing about 2000words, at least 10 books.   waaaaaaaa....!!!

Literature review is how you synthesis all the data and reading materials and create your own view or idea. A good literature consist of similarities and differences of particular topics and a few debates on that issues. Is not only provided information but examining methods, shortcoming of theories/models and results of other research are strongly suggested. There are lots of things can be discussed in literature review.

For each sub-topic should be more than 10 books
Can you imagine how many books are needed for 50 pages, 1.5 double spacing?

kalu nak tulis sorotan literatur beberapa perkara mesti ada...kita perlu cari point berkaitan dengan tajuk..lepastu kita kena blend dengan sokongan daripada kajian dalam tempoh lima tahun kebelakang. katala kajian tersebut tentang motivasi...kita bahagikan dulu apa tajuk tajuk yang berkaitan dengan motivasi tu. Contoh:Katalah  4 perkara nak bincang..ni contoh je..thesis perlu banyak lagi...

1. Defination
2. Jenis motivasi-eksternal /internal..
3. Kepentingan motivasi
3. Teori-teori motivasi
4. Theoritical Framework yang kita pilih

So bincanglah definasi tu ikut sapa sapa... kalau definasi tak de la kajian..tapi adala sesapa yang bercakap

Pastupasal internal motivation  dan external motivation tu...carilah kajian yang menyokong cerita yang kita tulis  ..cerita sesatu pastu sokongla dengan kajian-kajian yang dijalankan..masukkan perkara berikut:

1. apa tajuk kecilnya yang nak cerita
2. Sapa yang dah buat kajian tentang perkara yang nak dicerita (sebanyak yang mungkin)/ N=berapa/lelakiberapa perempuan berapa/di mana/apa tujuannya/ metodologi kajian orang tu cemana danapa dapatannya.(macam abstract tu)
3.cari sub lain cerita pula..cari kajian yang berkaitan dan kaitkan (tak semestinya dapatan kajian tu positif je..negatif pun boleh gak asal kena dengan sub tajuk)

4. Buat la  pepanjang
5. Teori mesti ada...teori berkaitan dengan motivasi tu..
6.Teori atau Kerangka kerja mana yang kita nak pilih sebagai asas kajian .Beri alasan. Beri sokongan (kajian lepas). sorotan Lituratur atau Lit.review hanya setakat ni je.

7. In the end...kena jelas dapatan baru (kalau kajian kualitatif) berdasarkan rangka kerja/teori yang dipilih. Misalnya dalam konteks Msia...apa bezanya dengan luar negara ke..apa yang tak sama ke..keluarkan framework seniri. Kalau quantitatif hanya terima ataiu tolah hipotesis.
