Kasperskyhas deemed Zango applications as threats and every time a user with KAVwants to install a Zango program, the anti-virus says it's malware.Surely, this did not please Zango, as it affects good marketing... sothey took action.
Zango sued Kaspersky in a try to make them remove Zango software from the Kaspersky blacklist of malware. Of course,Kasperky stood their ground and continued to flag Zango programs asundesirable software, thus blocking them. Kaspersky won in court, allbased on the Communications Decency Act, part of which says 'Noprovider or user of an interactive computer service shall be heldliable on account of any action voluntarily taken in good faith torestrict access to or availability of material that the provider oruser considers to be obscene, lewd, lascivious, filthy, excessivelyviolent, harassing, or otherwise objectionable, whether or not suchmaterial is constitutionally protected, or any action taken to enableor make available to information content providers or others thetechnical means to restrict access to [such] material.' So, if you askme, knowing Kaspersky as well as Zango, I think that the anti-viruscompany has every right to do this.
