i hope you have facts or stats to back this up. few incidents cannot be used to generalize the whole quality of a device. i've used big hard drives for many years (still using them from as old as 2001), from 80GB to 750GB, from 2.5" to 3.5", so far, no problem.

tengok juga quality pendrive tu, original or fake. usually yang ada isu ni, fake pendrive. or this is just isolated incident. kalau betul yang original ada isu, companies won't release their ssd drive because ssd uses similar tech, if not the same, as pendrive.

i didn't generalized it. i just gave out my opinion. since this happened to me and majority of my friends. 40gb to 80gb hdd could still survive until this day. but none of us, has a large capacity hdd that last more than 3 years. It doesn't mean that after 3 years the hdd completely failed, but started to have problems such as weird sounds, bad sectors, suddenly stopped and finally a failure.

i believed that my friend's pendrive is a fake. since the electronics technology nowadays can allow reducing the size of every electronic parts, i didn't deny that it can be done. but my doubts are still there that it'll last longer.

dulu aku beli pendrive kingston 512mb .. lifetime warranty .. cucu aku pon boleh claim warranty tu ..

tp skrg .. bila 8 gigs .. cuma 5 taun warranty ..
