BATU GAJAH – Lebih 2,500 penduduk Kampung Baru Chenderong di sini terpaksa menghidu bau busuk sejak enam tahun lalu berpunca daripada sebuah premis memproses bangkai haiwan untuk dibuat palet bagi makanan haiwan berdekatan kampung mereka.

Ketua Kampung tersebut, Hoo Kit Yin, 50, berkata, keadaan itu menyebabkan mereka hidup dalam keadaan tidak selesa.

“Bau busuk paling kuat dihidu pada waktu tertentu sahaja. Dari pagi hingga ke malam, kami terpaksa berhadapan dengan keadaan itu,” katanya kepada pemberita di sini hari ini.

Menurut Kit Yin, penduduk ada berjumpa dengan pihak kilang untuk meminta mereka menghentikan kegiatan memproses tersebut namun tidak diendahkan.

“Setiap hari, ada sebuah lori yang akan membawa keluar bangkai yang telah diproses dan apabila lori tersebut melalui rumah penduduk, satu kampung akan menghidu bau busuk,” katanya.- KOSMO! ONLINE
