'The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call’ writer confirms Season 3 amid global success

On January 29, the writer of 'The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call' confirmed that the show will be extended to Season 3. Lee Nak Jun, the creator of Severe Trauma Center, praised the strong on-screen chemistry between lead actors Joo Ji Hoon and Choo Young Woo, promising fans that the show will continue to deliver compelling content up to the third season.
Reflecting on the journey, Lee Nak Jun shared his thoughts during a recent appearance on the YouTube channel Doctor Friends. “Netflix? At first, I thought it was just a dream,” he recalled. “When I first hoped that my novel could become a webtoon and eventually a drama back in 2019, it seemed impossible. But then, the rights were sold. After a long period with no filming, suddenly, production started in 2023.”
He added, “If the drama does well, there will be a Season 2. Season 1 hasn't wrapped up its story yet. If viewers are curious about what happens next, they can read my webtoon or web novel." Lee emphasized, "The show was made with Seasons 2 and 3 already in mind."
The recently released 'The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call' follows the intense journey of Baek Kang Hyuk, a genius surgeon who is assigned to revive a struggling trauma team at a major hospital. Ju Ji Hoon plays Baek Kang Hyuk, a doctor with extraordinary skills, while Choo Young Woo portrays Yang Jae Won, the first fellow to be captivated by Baek's remarkable methods.
Lee Nak Jun also discussed one of the show's most memorable scenes—Baek Kang Hyuk carrying Yang Jae Won while descending from a helicopter. “The director was really concerned. Is there any doctor in Korea who can rappel down a helicopter? No. But this is a medical fantasy novel, so we had to make it work,” Lee explained.
He continued, “When we consulted with medical experts, they said, ‘There’s too much fantasy.’ It was difficult to get advice. But Baek Kang Hyuk is a person with superhuman abilities. He can do anything, even knowing the diagnosis before the test results come back. His physical abilities are also extraordinary. Baek Kang Hyuk is 188cm tall, and Ju Ji Hoon, who plays him, is also 188cm. It feels like fate,” Lee proudly remarked.
As of January 29, 'The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call' has been making waves worldwide. According to Netflix’s Tudum website, the show amassed 4.7 million viewing hours from January 20 to 26, ranking third in the global (non-English) TV shows category just three days after its release. The show also hit number one on South Korea’s TOP 10 Series list and has charted in 26 countries, including Chile, Peru, Romania, Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, and the UAE, proving to be a global hit.

Maklum la Netflix yang keluar duit...
Itupun ada yang kritik CGI tak kemas... padahal budget memang tak besar mana pun...Belum lagi kena komen pasal cast tak sesuai... tup2 booming citer ni sampai US...
Boleh bagi kritikan tapi kena tengok jugak apa kritikan tu...

Please kekalkan cast sama... Choo Young Woo ni belum plkn lagi kot... tak best kalau tukar... nak tengok character development dia lepas ada no.2 pulak & so on...

Iols 1st time tengok dia dalam citer The Tale Of Lady Ok... dia berlakon 2 character... memang bagus lakonan dia dalam citer tu... yes... citer ni memang heavy drama... banyak konflik... tapi menarik... btw ni citer sageuk...
Haah... tapi citer ni kat ott... so takde masalah kot pasal isu tu... iols tengok ramai knetz bagi positive review & request season 2...
Pada iols kalau follow sebijik dalam webtoon pun tak best jugak... takde elemen surprise sebab dah tau storyline... so bila adaptasi kena ubah sikit biar menarik... ni pov iols... macam kita tengok drama bila dah tau spoiler... takde feel gitu...
