“HAVE I ever been offended?” actor Fattah Amin asked in an interview recently.
That was his reply when asked whether he was offended by a statement from a senior actor on how the acting skills of some new artistes were not up to par, and that they relied only on good looks and popularity on social media.
The senior actor later retracted the statement.
But, is the hunky 26-year-old Fattah tough and unfeeling when uncomplimentary statements are hurled at him?
As popular as he is, Fattah has his fair share of critics.
Fattah, who is polite and politically-correct in his answers to reporters, said he was not affected by negative remarks.
However, a source close to him said, prior to accepting the offer to act in a remake of the 2007 Korean drama The 1st Shop Of Coffee Prince, Fattah was left a little undecided after a protest broke out against him playing the hero of the adaptation.
“The fuss did get him down, and he was not sure whether to accept the offer to play Raikal,” the source said.
“On the outside, he may seem like a mentally-strong person, but he is only human. There are days when he is affected by the negativity.”
However, is looks like Fattah has got out of the doldrums, as he is filming the drama, directed by Michael Ang, with co-star Janna Nick.
Fans can catch Fattah on The House S4 when the six-episode programme airs on Astro soon.
Alvin Chong, an actor from hit drama Suri Hati Mr Pilot, is his “sparring partner” in the programme.
