Arjun Rampal has adopted 12 kids, associated with the NGO Project Rayons. The NGO works primarily with little girls. There are some horrific stories about what these girls go through living on the streets. Many of them are sexually abused. This is what made Arjun adopt these children when the NGO approached him. He believes in the credibility of the organization. Although his hectic schedule does not permit him to spend too much time with these kids, he ensures that he knows what activities they are occupied with. Their report cards are a means of keeping a check on them. Arjun and wife Mehr have two daughters of their own, Mahika and Maira. By adopting these twelve kids, he hopes that he encourages more people to get involved.

Here抯 another coincidence! The year 2005 commenced with the release of an Arjun Rampal-Amisha Patel starrer Vaada [also starred Zayed Khan]. And now, the year 2006 will begin with another Arjun-Amisha starrer Humko Tumse Pyaar Hai.
Produced by Moranis and Soorma, Humko Tumse Pyaar Hai was slated for release in December, but the producers decided to shift the release to January 6, 2006, making it the first release of the New Year.

Raveena: Time to make the websites accountable

Unknowingly Raveena Tandon has laid open a Pandora's Box. By taking strong legal action against the portal shaadi.com she has egged on a whole lot of stars, aggrieved, incensed and affronted by supposed misinformation that's fed to fans the worldover through the computers.  

Says Raveena, "Yes, I've sued shaadi-com. It's so weird. But they write anything they want on the websites thinking that a star will never have the time to check it out. Well, now I do visit websites. But I got to know about shaadi.com through a news report in the Times Of India.

"That's when I came to know about the existence of shaadi.com, and that they claimed I had given an interview to a film magazine saying I met my husband (Anil Thadani) through this portal. Which magazine which interview??? I challenge this portal to substantiate what they're claiming. Arrey, the whole world knows how I met Anil."

Raveena's lawyers are currently in the process of filing a legal suite against the portal for damages. Says Raveena, "How can these websites use our names and pictures without our permission? It has to be stopped. And I'm glad I'm initiating the process."

Speaking on Nafisa Ali taking over as chairperson of the Children's Film Society from her, Raveena says, "I don't know what her credentials as a film person are. But Nafisa is a wonderful humanbeing with a track record of social service. And she relates with kids. These are the pre-requisites for the job."

My giggle is a defence mechanism: Ash

I've seen her go through acute pain. Aishwarya梠r Ash , as friends insist on calling her梬as in a bad relationship when I first met her. It was during the making of Devdas, and the man in her life would insist on barging into her schedules whenever he felt like. He was making his presence felt in the most embarrassing and sadistic ways.

If my infamous giggle offended people they've to understand it's my defence mechanism. I cannot and will not express my personal pain in public."

That was Ash at her mellowest.

It may not show in her immediate screen presence. But the pain has been tapped with considerable acumen in Rituparno Ghosh's Raincoat.

Aishwarya-Santoshi patch up

Filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi approaches Aishwarya Rai for yet another film, putting to rest the rumours of a fall-out between the two

Rajkumar Santoshi has decided to put all rumours about him falling out with Bollywood beauty Aishwarya Rai, to rest for once and for all. And what better way to do it than by casting her in yet another one of his films. Apparently, Santoshi has approached Ash for his yet to be announced film Ladies and Gentlemen. Touted to be a comedy, the filmmaker has also approached Ajay Devgan and Preity Zinta for the main leads.
  
Santoshi, however, when contacted refused to divulge any details, saying, 揥e are still trying to finalise things.

Sunny may not produce 'Prithviraj Samyukta'

With Sunny Deol and Rajkumar Santoshi officially burying the hatchet and deciding to do a film together, indications are that the actor may not go ahead with plans to produce a second version of "Prithviraj Samyukta".

The differences between the two first surfaced during Bobby Deol's debut film "Barsaat", when the film bit the dust at the box office. The two eventually overcame their differences but the spat resurfaced after Santoshi replaced Sunny with Ajay Devgan in "Lajja".

There were fresh differences when both of them made films on the same subject of martyr Bhagat Singh. However, as Santoshi recently declared, they have written off all their differences and decided to do a film together next year, reports Bollywood Trade.
On the other hand, rumours are rife that director Chandraprakash Dwivedi is looking for another suitable producer to finance his dream project on the Rajput king Prithviraj and his ladylove Samyukta.

Even if he is associated with the film, Sunny may now look at it only from the point of view of enacting the title role.

In fact, he recently revealed in one of his interviews that he was not looking at making any big film apart from the sequel to "Betaab" after the severe losses he made in production.

Dwivedi will also have to take a fresh look at who will play the prized role of Samyukta in his film. With Priyanka Chopra clearly denying she was doing the film, he was considering approaching Aishwarya Rai once again for the film but, according to the latter's business manager Harri Singh, the question does not arise since he will have to wait for her dates till late 2007.

Meanwhile, Santoshi who had only a month ago ruled out the possibility of working with Aishwarya in "Prithviraj Samyukta" has now confirmed that she will be playing the female role in his film.

Aishwarya's business manager said Ash was committed to doing a film with Santoshi and would honour the commitment.

Santoshi has scheduled "Prithviraj Samyukta" for an early 2007 launch, when Ajay Devgan is also said to have allotted dates to him for the title role.
