Benitez Angry With Liverpool As Agger Drama Drags On
Rafael Benitez could be set for another run-in with Liverpool's American owners after publicly blaming his higher-ups for the confusion surrounding Daniel Agger.
The young Dane has been heavily linked with AC Milan in recent weeks, and tabloid reports have suggested that he is unhappy with his situation at Anfield.
But Benitez insisted recently that the 24-year-old was fully committed to the Reds and eager to extend his contract, which expires in 18 months' time.
And now the Spanish tactician, annoyed at the deal's delay, has hit out at the Kop chiefs over their lack of communication with the player and his representatives.
"The club have been too slow on Agger’s contract and he’s now all over the papers because we were not quick enough," the former Valencia coach said, according to The Sun.
Benitez is still in negotiations over the renewal of his own contract with Liverpool, having rejected the club's latest offer last week
