X JAPAN Performing New Song Four Times with a Choir of Fans!
On July 1st, YOSHIKI had been holding his kick-off party for the "YOSHIKI FOUNDATION AMERICA" in the down town CLUB NOKIA in L.A. About 2000 fans, who had rushed to the venue from all over the U.S. filled the place for the performance of X JAPAN.
The first song to be presented was the new track "Born to be free", which was presented four times that day. At last the fans had memorized the lyrics as well and formed a great choir.
Thereafter YOSHIKI stated laughing "I've drummed too much, my neck hurts." Although he had stated that after the last surgery he had been recovering well, the real truth is probably only known to YOSHIKI himself.
X JAPAN will next play at the great rock festival Lollapalooza 2010 in Chicago's Grand Park on August 8th. Thereafter they are heading to Nissan Stadium in Yokohama for their two-days performance on August 14th and 15th. At the same time, the recording continues, leaving the fans with a number of things to look forward to.

X Japan performs at Japan Expo

X Japan members YOSHIKI and TOSHI attended Japan Expo in Paris this past weekend. The two performed for 8000 fans. They performed four songs: Forever Love, ROSE OF PAIN, I.V. and ENDLESS RAIN, and not without starting the concert off with “We Are X!!” Fans jumped and crossed their arms in the air to show their love. In the middle of ENDLESS RAIN, TOSHI sang the chorus in French in which the fans replied back in Japanese, making it a memorable cultural exchange.
Fans welcomed the band with a warm welcome as YOSHIKI shouted, “I’m so glad to finally see you guys!!” in French.
As they left the stage the instrumental to their new song “Born To Be Free” played I the background leaving the hall full of excitement and the fans chanting “We Are X!!”

X Japan announces North American tour, new album
Rock band X Japan held an urgent press conference on Thursday to announce a few pieces of news, including their first North American tour and a new album.
It has already been known since January that X Japan will be performing at the Lollapalooza rock festival in Chicago, which is taking place August 6-8. In addition, they were announced as special guests at the upcoming Otakon 2010 convention in Baltimore (July 30-August 1), where they will perform a short acoustic set. However, the band plans to launch a full tour across North America starting on October 1.
The North American tour is connected to the band's planned world tour, which was scheduled last year but had to be postponed due to various circumstances. X Japan is resuming their world tour plans, starting with domestic performances at the Nissan Stadium in Yokohama on August 14 and 15.
X Japan stated that their North American tour will start in California on October 1. It is said that more than 10 cities will be covered, including Los Angeles, New York, Seattle, Vancouver, San Francisco, and Boston.
Coinciding with their tour, the band is planning to release a new album this fall, their first in 14 years. It will be released simultaneously in Japan and the U.S. The album will contain about 10 songs, including "Jade," "ART OF LIFE," and English versions of "Tears" and "Rusty Nail." It is also said that "Jade" will be released as their first U.S. single.

America Gets Ready for X Day

With X Japan gearing up for their long-awaited U.S. concert debut, the Los Angeles Times has put its spotlight on the rock band. The cover of its Arts & Books supplement on Sunday featured the headline, "America, Meet Yoshiki" and a photo of the band leader and drummer. The article - the kind of exposure the band needs if it is to have a chance of breaking into the U.S. market - gave a potted history of the band and compared their January rooftop video shoot in downtown Hollywood to similar stunts by The Beatles and U2. It included several quotes that confirmed Yoshiki's ambitions for overseas success ("People say, 'You cannot get to the moon.' I want to get to the moon! The moon being the American market."), but also others that revealed his band mates may not quite share that level of enthusiasm.
And the reason for the sudden attention to a band that formed in 1982? X Japan are scheduled to become the first ever Japanese artists to perform at the Lollapalooza festival in Chicago on August 8, and then they kick off their North America tour on October 1 in support of their first original album in 14 years. For the J-rock and visual-kei pioneers, it really is a make or break opportunity in the U.S.
In related news that is hugely meaningful to die-hard fans of the band, it was revealed yesterday that the two shows at Yokohama Nissan Stadium on August 14/15 may well have a very special guest. Bassist and original member Taiji is said to be enthusiastic about the idea of performing on stage with his old friends for the first time in 18 years. He posted on his blog about meeting them for drinks recently and sharing stories about the old days, back when the band was known simply as X. The news of a possible reunion will make a quick sellout of the 150,000 tickets all the more likely. Tickets go on sale July 31.
