BIOGRAPHY
TVfXQ (Tong Vfang Xien Qi), also known as 동방신기, 東方神起, and Dong Bang Shin Gi/Ki, is a five-member male K-pop group, which sings a cappella. They have debuted in South Korea, Japan, Taiwan and China. The five members are, from eldest to youngest, Kim Jae Joong (김재중 or HERO 在中), Jung Yun Ho (정윤호 or U-know 允浩), Park Yoo Chun (박유천 or Micky 有天), Kim Jun Su (김준수 or Xiah 俊秀) and Shim Chang Min (심창민 or MAX 昌珉).
The meaning of 'Dong Bang Shin Gi' is 'Gods Rising from the East'. This five-member dance team is made up of mere high school students who auditioned for stardom. Each member has proved his excellent talent in singing as well as dancing. This came to a successful creation of the boy band.
The boys were put in different groups among peers and other trainees in their training to be selected for the group, which was already named as Dong Bang Shin Gi. The best were chosen to be put into the group Dong Bang Shin Gi and the following were chosen.
The first to join was Kim JunSu (김준수) who was merely 12 at that time; he was brought into the program through a TV show looking for new talent. He continued on to train for six more years to debut under the name of Xiah Junsu (시아준수). (Xiah is Asia without the "Ah" sound in Korean)
The next member to join, Jung Yunho (정윤호), won his audition through a dance competition. However, he was no amateur. He had tasted stardom as a backup dancer and rapper for K-pop singer Dana. His chosen stage name is U-know Yunho (유노윤호) (because when you say Yunho real fast, it sounds like U-know in English).
Kim JaeJoong (김재중), like Tamaki Nami (the Japanese pop singer), left his hometown to audition for SM Entertainment and debut under the name a fortune teller foretold years before: YoungWoong JaeJoong(영웅재중). He is also known as Hero, the translation of YoungWoong (영웅).
Shim ChangMin (심창민), one of the youngest to audition, passed the try-outs with flying colors. He joined the band on the name of ChoiKang ChangMin (최강창민) (the English counterpart to his stage name is Max).
Six months prior to the group's debut, a new member was added. The American Park YooChun (박유천) changed his name to Micky YooChun (믹키유천). Originally, YooChun's English name was Micky, so he chose his English name to be part of his stage name.
With large success in Korea, Dong Bang Shin Gi's music is being shipped out to all of Asia. For prep work, they recorded a single with The Trax and BoA. BoA, already popular in Japan, and The Trax, which had released new music in Japan, made an awareness overseas about the new boy group. Tong Vfang Xien Qi has also released albums and singles in China and may add a Chinese member to their group to help their popularity within the country. SM Entertainment is thinking of splitting Dong Bang Shin Gi into two groups: one three-member group to perform in South Korean and the other two with the new Chinese member to perform in China. The news of the addition of a new Chinese member and splitting is upsetting to the fans of Dong Bang Shin Gi, Cassiopeia. The fans want neither the rotations or splittings. They say 5+1=0, 5-1=0 because Dong Bang Shin Gi is only Dong Bang Shin Gi with the five original members.

Hallyu Expo, Dong Bang Shin Ki
The 'FACE in Japan Premium Event' was held at the Tokyo Dome in Japan on the 14th as part of the Hallyu Expo. The event featured Lee Dong Geon, Uhm Tae Woon, Ha Ji Won, Cho Hyun Jae, and other actors along with performances by Kang Ta, Dong Bang Shin Ki, Big Mama, and others.
The most popular star of the event was Dong Bang Shin Ki. When the screen featured 'Tohoshinki' for the last performance, the quiet audience all stood up and cheered. Red glow sticks representing the group rose from the crowd as well.
After the performance, Dong Bang Shin Ki commented, "We held a performance in Budokan in June, and this is our first after ranking first on the Oricon charts on the 1st. We though they would all be fans of the other popular actors and actresses but were surprised they were our fans."
The crowd's response reflected the rising popularity and growth of Dong Ban Shin Ki in Japan. Their recent single 'Summer' ranked first on the Oricon Daily Chart and second on the weekly chart.
Their success can be contributed to the localization through Avex. The members used their fluent Japanese on stage and sang 'Summer Dream,' 'O-Jung.Ban.Hab' and other songs in Japanese, contrasting to other stars.
A personnel who participated in the Hallyu Expo event commented, "I was surprised and happy to see Dong Bang Shin Ki's poster on a department store building in the center of Shibuya. It is a moving experience to see photos of Korean stars in central areas of Tokyo."

" Leader Jung Yunho: A perfect socialite, he handles social scenes verywell, not only it's due to extensive training from SM, but also has alot to do with his personality and his family surrounding. SM wasfocusing on him since the begining of days because they knew he wassomething special. The whole : " I only became leader after JaeJoonghyung said he didn't want to be one" talk is all garbage, JJ'spersonality isn't suitable for a leader, which will be explained lateron in this.
Yunho's very well rounded, and he knows what to sayand what to do at places, even when he absolutely has to critizesomeone, he does in a low-down way that it's not dramatic, once backstage, this big time celebrity was upset about something, so he wasbasically cussing everyone out, no one had the guts to say anythingbecause he was such a big shot, but Yunho came into the room, greetedthe big shot and started some casual chit chat, they both ended upengaging in a light hearted conversation.
All five boys havegreat professional attitude, esp the leader Yunho, he's not the typethat comes, does the gig and leaves, he will make sure all details withthe crew, anything related to DBSK, he will and wants to know. he oftencares for others, see how they're doing, perhaps that's why being theleader gets so exhausting sometimes. But he's really smart and verydetail oriented, not to mention he pays attention to others, even whena crew member hurted his hands during a photoshoot, Yunho saw it andasked him if he was alright and if he needed help. Everyone truly likesYunho. He knows the importance of his place yet he's very modest.
He'svery caring toward the members, professionally, he does everything inhis powers to make sure others work smoothly, so that's a load off ofthe manager's shoulder. Once half way through a schedule, he asked acrew member to bring a pair of shoes, I first thought Yunho just wantto wear another pair of shoes, but turns out the shoes were for junsu,because Junsu had mentioned his shoes were too slippery and they had todance later in the schedule. Yunho immiedtely thought of taking care ofthe problem for Junsu.
Yunho plays it tough in front of others,but there are times it's hard for him to hold back his emotions, behindthe glam, he's a very sensitive, passionate guy, not after theydebuted, once I saw Yunho cry, it was in a small room, his back wasfacing the door so I didn't see his face, but I saw his shouldersshiver, the members were around him. Changmin gave him tissues andJaejoong was holding his hand and comforting him. The entertainmentcircle is a cruel place where people learn to toughen up, the toughwill get tougher and the weak will only grow weaker.
Yunho's anice guy, but he absolutely will not allow it when people attackjaeJoong, whether as a joke or not, once someone was talking about JJin a way bad, Yunho stared the person down for about 30 seconds.. thatsent shivers down my spine
Fun fact: Yunho does most of the socializing in DBSK, so he often had to drink.. his limits is 4 bottles of soju~~
Yunhodoes not have a girlfriend at the moment, because the company simplydoes not allow it, there are quite a few girls in the field that likeshim, but that would kill DBSK's career and SM will never let Yunho getsaway with it.
The five are extremely close, they're alwaysplaying together, once Yunho asked JJ to do something, JJ jokly said "if you dare to go kiss _____, i will do it right away.." . that personwas a girl. then there was a time where everyone though Yunho likedher, Yunho laughed and said " what the heck are you smoking" then hehugged JJ .. the ending? all five hugging together on the floor...
JJ likes to talk a lot, esp with people he knows well, no matter whathe's taking about, he likes to describe it to the fullest, once tellinga joke, he used 22 adjectives to describe a ballpen. haha. so sometimeshe drags his stories, often in the progress of describing things, hetotally forgets what he was going to talk about.. yet he's still lovesit! at times like this, changmin would try to get to the point for JJ,and JJ won't let him. Even on shows, unless it was scripted prior tothe show, JJ will often gets lost in his own chatter and completelyforgets the fact that he's even on a show... makes the MCs so dizzy!but no one hates him for it, he has a good heart, friendly and easy toget along with. even to strangers. but he has his guard up when it'snecessary and he knows how to protect himself. He'll chat your earsoff, but never things he knows he shouldn't say. he has a habit ofcooking.. then eating while cooking, so by the time he's done.. there'snot much left.. JJ's smile is elegant and soft, yet the minute he openshis mouth he's a complete jokster, I don't think he smokes too much ortoo often. not sure about his alcohol tolerance, he seems that he likesto drink. once he was drinking for 4 hrs and came out looking totallyfine. Yunho on the other hand, gets really red after drinking.. so doesYoochun.
JJ's really close to Yunho, often helps Yunho with anyproblems he has, sometimes Yunho feels bad lecturing the members, so JJdoes it for him. JJ's the type that base everything on firstimpression, if he likes you first, then he'll like you forever,otherwise, he never will for as long as he livse. Not like Yunho, wholikes everyone.. that's why I said before JJ's personality isn'tsuitable for a leader.
Yoochun's a true gentleman, he always opens doors for female crewmembers, let the girls go first when riding the elevator, throughlittle gestures you can tell he's very much of a gentleman, sometimeshe acts goofy around team members, but I think that's because he lacksconfidence sometimes, he has lots of stupid silly requests, to getattention from team members, he needs to know that others loves him tofeel secure.. ,maybe because he barely has any family in Korea, so hefeels a little lonely and insecure. he's the quitest one out of thefive, sometimes he's deep into his thoughts for hours, and he tend tolet his emotions effect his work, that's why the manager's particuarllyworried about him in case they go solo one day.。
Junsu's personality is more edgy.. when he's cold he's very cold, whenhe's mad he's really mad, when he's playing around he play hits youhard, even though he was serious, but it still hurts! but he never hitsyoochun because yoochun's really sensitive, once back in training days,he play hits yoochun, and yoochun cried.. so ever again after that.Junsu went through a lot of tough times during training days, despitethe fact that he was one of the best trainees. once his voice wentaway, a lot of people who were jealous were all stumping on him. thatwas his darkest time.
Junsu's very strong and independent eventhough he acts cute in front of the camera, but off the camera he'smuch more mature than he appears to be on camera, it's said that if SMhas plan for them to go solo, Junsu would make the first solo debut.Junsu holds himself and others to very high standards when it comes tomusic, he doesn't allow himself to make any mistake.. a perfecionist.Eun Hyuk of SUJU is Junsu's best, he will kick others butt for Junsu.once during trainnee days, someone was making fun of Junsu, Eun Hyukcame in and slapped him. ♥♥♥♥♥
Changmin's the youngest, but he doesn't let the members spoil him, he'smore low key.. even a shy changmin still gets into fights.. youwouldn't think. right? he's a good person to admire, because he'smature and he's deep, if he's not a singer, he is really capable ofdoing politics, he's young but he knows sometimes you just gotta holdyour anger, fight for what you want. sometimes he's too mature almost,he thinks a lot.
