this afternoon while 'reunioning' at summit hotel subang jaya, i received a wsapp message informing of the demise of fellow blogger yani, osmayani othman, aka kitchen guardian, a lawyer turned baker extraordinaire.
Yani was a member of our erstwhile 'makcik bloggers' group comprising professionals and aspiring writers active in blogland a couple of decades ago.
Zaharah Othman, Habsah Marjuni, Khalida Mohd Noor, Elviza Michele, Rohaizah Abas, Faten Rafie, Zendy Zee, Noryati Mohd Noor, Pi Bani, Shahieda Jardien, naz in norway, anak si hamid, koolmakcik.. to name but a few..
she left a well-paying job as a legal counsel to fulfil a dream, to be a baker and open a cafe, the hyacinth cafe. the cafe counted the last permaisuri agong as a frequent customer.
yani passed away suddenly early today and was buried before zohor. she was diagnosed with acute leukaemia in april. a cheerful humble soul, she left 6 children one menantu and her mom to mourn her loss.
may Allah bless your soul and place it among the souls of the righteous, my dearest yani. Innalillahi wa'inna ilaihirraji'oun.
