JUAN VILLALONGA ASSUMED THE MANAGEMENT OF VALENCIA CF SAD
Today, Valencia CF SAD reached an agreement with businessman Mr Juan Villalonga, who will assume the management and the running of Valencia CF SAD as main responsible.
The aim of this project is to turn Valencia CF in a winner team and in a club that enlarges the trademark of Valencia in the sportive, cultural and economic areas even more.
This will be achieved by using a management model with the best professionals, who might enable the creation of the necessary resources to fulfil an ambitious and winning project. Mr Juan Villalonga is an international businessman, whose parents are from Valencia. 慖 always had Valencia and ultimately Valencia CF in my heart. My greatest motivation is to put this Club in the world elite, which is the place where this city and these fans deserve to be, |

Villalonga Seeks Albelda Reconciliation
New Valencia powerbroker Juan Villalonga is apparently eager to repair some of the damage of last season by taking a softly-softly approach towards David Albelda...
Albelda, the former Valencia skipper, was exiled from first team duty last season along with Miguel Angel Angulo and Santiago Cañizares by then-coach Ronald Koeman and with the blessing of then-chairman Juan Soler.
Soler stood aside last week to allow Villalonga to control the club, and with a new coach also in place in the form of Unai Emery, a new era could be dawning at the Mestalla.
As reports that he new boss is eager to resolve Albelda's situation to the satisfaction of all parties, which may be easier said than done given that the player had until recently been in a bitter court case with the Mestalla club.
But with the ex-captain having passed a medical test and joined up with 17 others for Emery's pre-season training, it is possible that he could be kept on. Villalonga will meet with Emery in order to see if there is any chance of Albelda's remaining.
Technical secretary Juan Sánchez had already said that a 'dignified exit' for the midfielder was order of the day, but with Soler now out of the picture this may prove unnecessary. After all, he's under contract until 2012.
Not everyone at Valencia is happy, however. Joaquín Sánchez is still likely to move on after a tumultuous season. |

Emery staying on as Valencia coach
Mon 14 Jul, 07:07 PM
MADRID (AFP) - Valencia's new sporting director Xabier Azkargorta said Monday that Unai Emery would remain as the Spanish club's coach.
He was reacting to a report in sports daily Marca which said Valencia had offered Spanish coach Luis Aragones, who earlier this month joined Turkish club Fenerbahce after leading Spain to victory in Euro 2008, a two-year contract.
"Obviously Unai was surprised to see this front-page report, as was I, but Unai is our coach and we intend on working with him," Azkargorta told a news conference after being appointed sporting director and meeting with Emery.
The report in Marca, which did not cite sources, said an agreement between Valencia's new executive director Juan Villalonga and Aragones could be reached "over the coming hours" and Emery, appointed in May, would be fired.
Aragones, who is approaching his 70th birthday, signed a two-year contract with Fenerbahce but the newspaper said he could leave at any time without paying a penalty.
Azkargorta coached Espanyol, Sevilla, Valladolid and Tenerife, as well as the national teams of Chile and Bolivia in the past.
Valencia, the winners of the Spanish league in 2002 and 2004, finished in 10th place last season in La Liga, 34 points behind the winners Real Madrid but will take part in the UEFA Cup next season since they won the Spanish Cup.
The club had four coaches last year: Quique Sanchez Flores, Oscar Fernandez, Ronald Koeman and Salvador Gonzalez "Voro". |
