Korean drama ‘Boys Over Flowers’ is currently being broadcasted on GTV,and after the announcement that main leads, Lee MinHo and Goo HyeSunwill be coming to Taiwan for promotional activities on 3-June, KimHyunJoong who acts as Yoon JiHoo in the drama will also visit Taiwanwith his group, SS501 on 26-June for 4 days, and will hold a fanmeeting at Taiwan International Convention Centre on 28-June at 7pm.
SS501 has gathered attention as they sang for F4 Yoon JiHoo’s themesong ‘Because I am Stupid’, and there has been rumors that SS501 willalso perform in the Golden Melody Awards held on 27-June. However, thejoint organizer AzioTV says that they did not send the invitation, andindicates that they knew that SS501 would be here for an activity, andso would not consider them since they are not here especially for theawards show.
Kim HyunJoong getting all the popularity through ‘Boys Over Flowers’will lead SS501 to do a series of promotional activities in Asia. Theirhandshake session held in Tokyo on 17-May gathered 7,000 fans and theywill also head over to Hong Kong for a fan meeting on 1-July. Organisedby Brokers Brothers Herald, the highest priced ticket for the Taiwanfan meeting is NTD 3,800. This fan meeting is also the criticalconsideration that SS501 couldn’t attend the Golden Melody Awards.AzioTV frankly revealed that overseas guests for Golden Melody Awardshad always had their other activities after the awards ceremony andthat their other activities cannot be involved with monetary terms.This terms and conditions cannot be changed and they had not made anyrequest for invitation through Warner music. |

‘Flower Boy’ Kim HyunJoong, Kim Bum...competes for best newcomer, daesang in drama section
The lead actors for this year’s hottest drama KBS 2TV ‘Boys OverFlowers’, Kim HyunJoong and Kim Bum will compete against each other in‘2009 Korea Junior Star Awards (KJSA)’. Both of them has been selectedas one of the candidate for daesang and newcomer awards in the dramasection for ‘2009 Korea Junior Star Awards’. As seen in these newly released stills, the action drama film Bisang [or Flight, or 비상] features a kiss between its two actors, almost-20-year-old hot commodity Kim Bum and 22-year-old Kim Byul.
The film is described as exploring the themes of young angst, love, pain, and maturation. Kim Bum (Boys Before Flowers, I Like It Hot) plays a young aspiring actor who dreams of being the best, while Kim Byul (Baby and I, Strongest Chil Woo) plays a “pure soul” who has an unhappy family life. The kiss scene follows the confirmation of the two characters’ feelings for each other.
The movie is directed by a relatively new director, Park Jung-hoon, whose last work was a 2007 short film A Day With Mr. 00. It also stars Bae Soo-bin of the currently airing weekend drama Brilliant Legacy.
The movie began principal photography on April 26 and is currently well into filming. It plans for a theatrical release in the latter half of 2009.
