Jericho and Kristine In Love...Naturally

Imagine the trials Jericho Rosales and Kristine Hermosa as Angelo and Yna in Pangako Sa'yo have gone through just to be together. After breaking up, they are now back in each other's arms and currently planning their wedding. Of course, it is not without the usual hitches like Felicity being pregnant with Angelo's child and Madam Claudia doing everything just so the wedding will not push-through. Viewers await with bated breath what will happen next to the star-crossed lovers. How many more trials will fate throw Yna and Angelo's way before they finally live hapilly ever after?

Meanwhile behind the scenes, real life copies fiction. Angelo and Yna, or better yet, Jericho and Kristine look very much in love...

Indeed, when this writer went to interview the two lovely creatures, they were so sweet, they were a feast for the ants.

Their hand entwined, they went through their business--preparing for the show. ASAP, talking to people, smiling to fans, etc., etc.--inside room 12 near studio 3 at ABS-CBN. They look like they were joined at the hip--noy leaving each other's side ever! Were they in love? You bet!

In real life, Jericho Rosales and Kristine Hermosa, unlike their alteregos, are free to love each other and are far from the problems that beseige Yna and Angelo. They get to express their feelings more freely than their reel personas, too. During the whole time that this interview was taking place, the couple would sometimes whisper to each other and share a private joke or two. Picture Kristine leaning over the Jericho's left leg or sometimes Jericho talking to her, drowning out the other people in the room, and looking at her like they were the only ones in the room. Ah love!

Aside from finishing each others sentences and knowing what in each other's minds before it's expressed, the couple, they related also shares a couple of thing in common: like a love for menudo and for the outdoors, both being nature lovers. Both find the rainy weather uplifting and both share a passion for quiet conversation. Still they do have their own eccentricities that make them all the more real. This is what they have to say...

Rachel: Let's test how well you know each other, Jericho what is Kristine's obsession? Kristine, Jericho's obsession?
J: Before she liked to collect stuffed toys. Now she is into candles, aromatherapy and all the other relaxation stuff. Yung mga usok-usok. (Kristine laughs)
K: Him? Well, he is into shoes.
J: I love shoes.
K: And jackets. There is one leather jacket he wanted to buy...
J: She didn't want me to buy it.
K: Because it's to expensive.
J: We are actually saving up for the Hawaii trip ka

Rachel: What do you think is her most valuable possession? His most valuable possession?
J: Feather, her four-month-old poodle. Mas gusto niya si Feather kesa sa akin.
K: His Bible. Jericho is a very spiritual person, which is nice

Rachel: What is the first thing he (she) does in the morning?
J: I don't know.
K: We don't sleep together so we don't have a clue.

Rachel: Fine, so what do you do Kristine when you get up in the morning?
K: I eat breakfast, wala nang mumog mumog. (laughs)
J: Maganda yun!
K: Tanghali na kasi pag gumising ako

Rachel: What time is that?
K: Around 7 or 8 am.
J: If that is late then you mean I'm forever asleep.

Rachel: Why, what time do you wake up?
J: 12 noon (grins sheepishly)

Rachel: So once you get up Jericho, what do you do first?
J: I open my window to see how the weather is. Then I evaluate myself. Happy ba ako today? I then fix my bed and paikot-ikot pag walang trabaho.

Rachel: Your ultimate fantasy?
J: To become like spiderman. I want to be a superhero and wear costumes. It's just that spiderman happens to be my favourite superhero.
K: To live in a fairytale world.

Rachel: What can cheer you up or dampen your mood?
K: When he sees his favourite car and me (laughs). What can dampen his mood? Still me. Kidding aside, when the shooting gets packed-up.
J: You know that feeling when you are already there only to be told that it will not push through? Argh!
K: As for me, stress dampens my mood.
J: The thing is, it takes a lot to surprise her. You plan to do something to cheer her up and she doesn't get surprised. Dami ko ng nagawa.

Rachel: What for you makes for a long and stable relationship?
K: Understanding and trust.
J: Appreciating all the little things she does for you. A simple thank you and sorry wouldn't hurt either. Respect.
K: Everybody goes through something like hardship and trials. This is to be expected. We have to experience it in order to grow up as mature individuals.

Rachel: What is the most romantic thing Jericho (Kristine) did for you?
K: Sometimes I just keep quiet and without the need to tell him, he'd still know. At times, when he senses that I need somebody to talk to, he'd hug me or ask me what's wrong. He has that ability to sense my need. Sobrang nata-touch na ko pagganun. Or when he remembers me wherever he is.
J: After work one time, we needed to talk so I brought her to Antipolo. We found a spot there near the highway and with a nice view below. We had a candle-lit dinner while somebody played musical instruments in the background. Yes, it was quite conducive for talking.

Rachel: So how are you when in love? Do you change drastically? How differently do you act when you are love struck?
J: I am at my most vulnerable state. You can be yourself. No inhibitions. You are full of confidence and see things diffrerently. It brings out the best in you. There is that urge there, the will to work, In other words, inpired. You feel safe and secure.
K: Because you know that, that person is just nearby.

Rachel: So if there is one movie that can describe what you have now, what movie would that be?
J: Shrek
K: Moulin Rouge

Rachel: Why of all movie, Shrek?
J: There are a lot of lessons to be learned there, It also shows that there is no room for pretensions in a relationship.

Rachel: Why Moulin?
K: I think everybody like the movie.

Rachel: What movie line did you find most memorable?
K: Come what may...One thing that you'll ever learn is just to love and be love in return.
J: That the lines for us. I wonder what else?
K: That's it. That's the only memorable thing I remember.
J: Saka yung kagabi...when will you get to the part (still talking about Moulin Rouge)
K: When "enough is enough".
J&K: "Never!"
K: Cute, right?

Rachel: If you had a chance to change everything in him (her) what would it be?
K: Nothing. He is fine the way he is. Echo is open to suggestions, He is not stubborn. He knows how to listen.
J: How about you?
K: (laughs) Okay, I admit I am stubborn.
J: I will not change anything either. Bahala na siya.

Rachel: How would you decsribe Kristine? Jericho?
J: She is a happy person and very well-mannered, She knows what pleases her, what she likes, and what she doesn't. She is disciplined enough to know up to what time she can stay. She is good at reading people. She is in general, obedient.
K: Humble and poetic. He is just a simple guy. Simple lang.
J: Pero rock.

Rachel: So we come to the juicy part, how did a Jericho Rosales court a Kristine Hermosa?
J: We are always together, for one.
K: Court me? Kami ba?
J: We have a set-up.
K: We're friends.
J: Ano ka ba? Bahala ka nga. (Kristine laughs) Nagtampo e ano?
K: We're friends.
J: Ayoko ng magsalita.
K: Basta what you see is what you get.
J: Actually it is not a set-up. She still has a lot to do, So pa-easy lang parang siya hindi masyadong seryoso.

Rachel: Any plans on Valentine's Day?
J: We have a show that day.
K: I'm one of their guests.

Rachel: How about after the concert?
J: Nothing since it'll be too late already to do anything else.
K: The concert will be the only thing we'll do on Valentine's.

And that was that.
Jericho and Kristine and Valentine's...a perfect mix, if you ask me.

YES JERICHO AND KRISTINE IS THE PERFECT MIX!
