Good: Tung fun, man-tou (excellent!), chilli crab
Not so good: Fan sui yip in belacan, and the overly large plate of Lah Lah (Kam Hiong)

Pandamaran Klang - Klang Seafood

Pandamaranwas one of the earliest seafood attraction that caught the crowd fromPJ and KL rushing to it during the early 90's as far as I can remember.Back then it was just a few seafood restaurant converted from houses.Later when Teluk Gong came up, we see the shift of the city crowdsthere.

Visited this place over the weekend again, this time Iwent to Klang Seafood (Kedai Makanan Laut Klang) which is recommendedby Soh Cicak. Its one of the many rows of seafood restaurants locatedon Jalan Nipah. On the way there, I passed by a BKT shop in Pandamaranwhich I tried once, the BKT there is very unique, no soup, just gravyand very oily, will go there one day and share it here.

Anyway,back to seafood, the place is busy like many seafood establishment inKlang on the weekend. Looks like Pandamaran is still quite happeningand popular place to go for seafood. We were there at about 7pm plusand most of the tables are filled.

The waiter came and westarted to order, first on are their fried tang hoon which the waiterrecommended, steam fish (red carp) with mee hoon, kangkung belacan,pandan chicken, fried egg oyster and kum hiong crabs. The waiteractually told us all the different variety they can serve the crabswith, we decided to go with salted egg crabs but the waiter thenwhisper and say salted egg is not good, hahaha... we were shocked... hetold us what they have and when we wanted it, he said its not good andbetter don't order! hahahahaha... so we burst out laughing and hedefend that he is just being honest but had to do his job and told uswhat they can offer, funny guy, so we settled for kum hiong as per hisrecommendation.

Firstto come are the pandan chicken, basically bits of chicken wrapped inpandan leaf deep fried. To me it taste just like otak-otak, quiteunique actually. But its really small piece that you can just pop thewhole thing into your mouth

Fried oyster with eggs arenormal, kangkung belacan are quite tasty too but can't beat the thaistyle one in Oldtown

. The fish is not bad, steamed in teow chewstyle, but I think it would be great if they add more salted vege andmake it a little more sour. Tang hoon also normal la.

Lastto served are crabs, the kum hiong is a bit different, with a lot ofcurry leaves, so the kum hiong have a strong hint of curry in them. Butthe crab size are the small one, I usually prefer the big one.

Afterthe meal, we decided to end it with some fried ice cream. Basically itsice cream wrapped in flour and deep fried. There are different flavorsyou can choose from but we just took 1 each of the 6 flavors available.We had to eat these fast before it all melts, crispy skins and yummycold ice cream in them. You can also get these at the SS2 Chow Yangpasar malam or the Cameron Highlands pasar malam.

Billcame to about RM150 for 6 person, prices are ok except for the crabswhich are quite costly at this place and I wouldn't rate the crabs asfantastic. Anyhow I had a good time meeting up with friends, sharingabout my last hash and later having them over to actually test ride mybike... hehehe.

Ini lah tempatnya oii. Mcm mana ni aku dah tanya budak2 kat ofis ni ramai yg gi. X kan aku sorang je dlm ofis x pegi. Dah tu aku nak kuar lunch ngan sapa klu semua nak join gi sana.
