PS2 JAPANESE GAME

You can adjust the settings for movies, where you can play a DVD with Japanese regional settings by modifying it. However, for games, that is not possible. Some data like voice overs and musics is already installed as Japanese data and that cannot be modified into American. Some games comes with English subtitles but Japanese voice overs.

Oh i see...

Hmm... i'm waiting for the Silent Hill 4... can't wait to play it if it comes this week....  :cak:

No idea ... I usually don't read rumors of upcoming games simply because it will make you put too much expectation in something and when they (producers) do not deliver (and they have no need to deliver anything which they themselves didn't promise), you will attend to get upset.

I rather play a new game with a refresh mind so I could understand a concept, gameplay and the storyline easily than expect things and get upset over it when they do not deliver.

Oh . Ok...

Hmm.. about the Metal Gear Solid 3

What do you think about the camoflage idea in this new game for the MGS 3.. is it good or bad ? .... :bgrin:

How about Silent Hill 1 on PS1? You didn't play that? There's a PC version I believe.

Which of the SH games you liked the most? Easiest and the Hardest.

Actually that techniques is not new. Actual soldiers in the field use them offend. They paint their faces with black or dark green paints and wear clothes in the same manner.

Did you know that when you doing this kind of mission in the darkness, grey uniform is better than black uniform? That because grey has less color tone than black and can easily disguise itself than black.

Well.. i skip the part one and go to the 2 and 3... :bgrin:

I think silent hill games are challenging especially the part 2 .. where u need to solve the hangmen puzzles and for the part 3, i think the puzzle for unlocking the door at the hospital... quite challenging...

in conclusion...

I think the fear factor in horror games are more likely comes in the puzzle part then the monster ... :cak:

Quite interesting .....

well.. i stumble into this game called Spy Fiction.. its quite a MGS thingy.. where the special part is that ... the dude use the invicibility thingy to hide from the guards...

You could understand the story in SH3? I thought it was closely connected to SH1. :hmm:

Hmmm ... I know who to consult when I finally decide to finish all three of them. While I don't get scared easily, the twisted graphics in the games are more than what my delicate sensors could handle.

in conclusion...

I think the fear factor in horror games are more likely comes in the puzzle part then the monster ...

In another word, you don't die because of been killed by monsters, you die because you couldn't open a damned door. Interesting indeed.

Spy Fiction? Sounds like I have heard of it somewhere. What console is it?

Speaking of Japanese games, are you familiar with a manga/comic named Flame of Recca?

It had been popular in Malaysia since the past year till now and today, I saw that some game company have released game version named "Flame of Recca : Final Learning"

He he .. you must be one brave guy ....

True... to add for the frustration... if you miss one item then its Hello to the monster thingy.. where u need to go back to the place where the item is and so on....

So far so good... i remember that this story is about the child in sh1 .. is this correct or wrong ?

something like that. It's about a writer who just lost his wife. He took his daughter, Cheryl (if not mistaken) to a resort town named Silent Hill. From there, it's all the way to Hell.

Must say, SH1 was one of the most original concept for PS1 in a long time, just like Parasite Eve 1, Chrono Trigger and a few others. If there is ever a movie to be made, SH1 is the best bet.

He he .. you must be one brave guy ....

Who said I was a guy? :cak:

Brave? Not sure ... I just don't get emotionally unbalanced easily. People say I'm too rational for my own good. I remember people jump out of corners to scare me and I usually go :hmm: "What are you doing?" kind of attitude.

True... to add for the frustration... if you miss one item then its Hello to the monster thingy.. where u need to go back to the place where the item is and so on....

Sounds horribly like a Final Fantasy and Resident Evil mix-up.

I usually don't use walkthroughs, but this game and those like it, I highly recommend it.

Yup ... Spy Fiction is from Sammy and its for Ps2....

Sammy? I think I saw it on the display, but didn't take it serious.

Flame of Recca... is it out yet ? .... Yup i know the anime ..

Yup. Saw it earlier. I think it is more like, strategy first, fight according to your strategy game. You know, the choose your option and fight.

I think the game is kinda like super robot taisen also.. where u need to push something and then pop... the FMV comes out...

Well ... the game took me by surprise. Never thought I could actually find a game based on an anime before. I already brought Saiyuki Reload, haven't tested yet. Now this is a second game based on one of my favorite animes.

Only thing missing now could be Yami No Matsuei and my game life could be considered perfect and I could die happily (after finishing the games of course).

p.s: Hows your day today ?

Odd question ... My day is a bit so and so. The weather is damn hot, everything seems to be slow and I have overeaten, which contribute to me being damn lazy. :kant:

Oh i see.... there something like a ritual and religion in the Sh3 that makes me blur...

Anyway... the Sh4 will be different than all of the 3... cause the fear factor will be claustrophobia i think ...

The bad thing about playing Japanese version is that you won't find much help so early in the game because most walkthroughs comes from non-Japanese source.

The plot is connected to the first game, which was laden with religious imagery and thoughts. Luckily, the game never forces any of its views on the player but, instead, it ponders about one's faith and the meaning of destiny. It's cultivating, intriguing stuff and it makes the game worthwhile.

Hmph ... destiny again? ;)

You remind me of another moderator in another forum who spoke to me about Predestined destiny as it featured in Chrono Cross.

Hmph ... useless discussion. You won't know what is predestined and what is not till you make the choice and choose one.

I think maybe different then RE1 ...

That gave me a clausophobia (or whatever you call it). Not enough space to move, too many fat-a$$ monsters and zombies. :kant:

Mr. Beckham miss penalty? I don't blame him ... he got too many penalties in real life, if you know what I mean. :cak:

Something like Fatal Frame 1? That's the closest I could imagine the game play to be, based on your explainations.:hmm:

Hmmm ... I should start my Fatal Frame one of this day.

Can't wait to fight the dogs...

Dogs ... least like creatures I would like to fight. In RE1, they were the worst because they always attack before you could aim and shoot.

Well, seph ... i wish i could .. but i can't cause teh gamefaqs need real emails if you want to post in the forum... well for me i don't have a real email.. you know the not free email....

How come you don't have a real e-mail?
Is it means that you are using company e-mail now?

I was like that also, too lazy to make/use my own e-mail. I made 4 e-mail accounts in 6 months and forgot the names I choose for it everytime. :kant:

Well, what I'm going to do now is that I going to wait for a friend of mine to finish his Onimusha 3 walkthrough and then, he going to register at Gamefaqs and I going to send him my guide for Hoshigami and have him to send it.

Hmm.... beckham have a lot of problems these days. well i hope he can guide the team ... and i will be disappointed if my team didn't go to the finals...

I suggest you don't make any bets on your team ... things don't look very good for them.

Hmm... you not finished Fatal Frame One eh ? .. I find FF1 sound that is the english version sucks compare to the japanese version ... i think horror games better been delivered by the original sound then the dub version.. what do you think about this ? :cak:

Yup ... couldn't find my balls. One of this days ...

I find FF1 sound that is the english version sucks compare to the japanese version ... i think horror games better been delivered by the original sound then the dub version.. what do you think about this ?

Agree ... I don't see why game developers have to change anything other than the language spoke and menu. Songs should remain like the original, but maybe with a subtitle.

PE1 is a good example. They kept their original songs without the need to change them. FF8's beginning songs is another good title. Chrono Cross takes the cake for having the best songs possible in Square games. Overall, I think Metal Gear Solid (for PS1) have the best collection of soundtracks EVER, especially my all time favorite - "The Best is yet to come" (ending song for MGS1).

Is it fast ... i mean the dogs.... i've encounter dogs in RE veronica ...

Fast? Not that fast, except RE1 was a bit tough considering we have to aim manually and they always move around like crazy dogs. RE2 onward, we had auto-aim to make out lives a bit less miserable.

Well.... i'm using the yahoo mail..

I don't have a real email.... poor me .. if i got it then i can register in the gamefaqs and post some ....

Good luck. Maybe when my friend registered in Gamefaqs.com (hopefully soon), you can send your guide through him. All you have to do is make sure your text have your original e-mail so people could e-mail you and ask if they have problem.

Ok.... well one of the guys do the betting.... well luckily i'm not into it... cause i hate gambling .....

I don't like gambling either, NOT because I lose, but because I have this annoying habit of knowing which one going to strike. :nyorok: Long story.

ho ho ho , i freak out when the ghost of the falling red woman falls when i was going down the stairs at FF2 ...

I have tested FF2 only for a short time ... too freaky.   Reach all the way to the Sealing Stone and the gray/black and white FMV about a man standing with the camera and taking pictures of those hands coming to grab him is enough to freak me out. :kant:

Yup.... i think the foreign should only change the language and not the sound ....

Yup ... the Japanese shouldn't entertain the Westerners too much. Maybe that's why the songs in FFX weren't changed too much.

the best is yet to come.... who sing this ya. i forgot already ...

The sad thing is, I couldn't even find it (YET) online. I really love that song. Last time, they had it on Konami.com

I remember that i fought a 2 headed dog from the silent hill series but i forgot already in which series...

Same here.

I forgot all except that damn worm which broke through the grate. I was walking around wondering where to go next when this damn worm burst in and almost made me spoilt my pants. :kant: I hate this one the most.

You recommend any good walkthroughs? I think I will be less emotional if I know what coming out of the corner by referring to a walkthrough.

Most of the americans are missing a lot of good games from the japanese.. ho ho ho ..  example the super robot taisen one..

Most of them don't like to play long games which require a lot of thinking and brain power. Card games and RPG is a good example. But nowadays, with more companies like Squaresoft, RPG slowly creeping into their lives.

Oh the worm...

I'm kinda hate those situation where your don't have a lot of ammo and then the zombie starts to surround you.. man i hate those things..

That's why you should follow the important tip which I found when I was playing RE1. Save, explore and remember what is where (including enemies) and don't bother about dying. replay and avoid making the same mistake. That's how I finish RE1.

anyway... the splinter cell pandora tomorrow for the ps2 comes out today... and it got 8 from gamespot and 9 from 1up.com

:lol Dear ... Splinter cell came out already last week. Slow poke.
