i was so pissed off bila your guide buat mcm tu..i would've kick him in the arse real hard!
actually this is your hike and you and only you alone will decide what and how the hike and trek should be
i have a wonderful guide whom i treasure so much and he's a gem..sayang sgt kat dia ehehehe
he will walk at our pace and constantly ask whether we're alright or not and always pointing and showing us the views that looms ahead or behind us
and he doesnt mind at all kalau kami took a long time to take piccas and always have a back up plan kalau kami tak sempat nak check in into mane2 hotel yg kami plan nak stay..he always have alternatives and we bunked in at another tea house...habis citer..takde pun dia nak tunjuk yg dia annoyed ke marah ke..
mmg rasa nak stranggle je si Durga ni..dia ni mamat kathmandu ke mamat pokhara?
and i was curious macamana pulak you sampai ke Deurali? lagi dua stop tu dah nak sampai ke MBC...and i'm scratching my head still...ke...ade 2 deurali? kadang2 the places ade nama yg sama tp location lain2..dan nama lain2 tp location same...
but if you were in Deurali the same trek as Doban Chhomrong then that is crazy! We were there to acclamatised for base camp!
hari tu..after poonhil dan naik balik steps hazab Ulleri tu kami terus hike ke tukuche and trek sampai jomoson mukhtinath kagbeni..
patutnya continue ke tilicho lake but I was freezing and cannot take it and i was also suffering from AMS...
i takde suffer from shortness of breath tapi my head was pounding and mcm nak pecah...and guess what...kami pon asik ade bad and weird dream...
i was actually hallucinating...
but my guide was briliiant..he took care of us really well...
my next project would be thorong-la pass and tilicho lake......i got nothing to lose...mati pon mati laaaa....nak ikut? HAHAHAHAHA

hehe..about my guide tu..memangla i sgt bertabah dgn dia. and you know what..diaorg ni nak cepat sebab nak sambut diwali.
i komplen kat the sivaji of the trekking company..dia cakap dia provide one of the best and experience guide to us..which i think sgtla citpodah. actually Durga neh one of the independent guide yg di hire oleh the company and based in kathmandu. i know that becoz dia cakap kat kitaorg suruh promo dia etc. sbb kalau cukup tour etc. dia bole buka company sendiri la etc.
our trek ghorepani-ghandruk tu..about 18km ..and dhla laju gile buat...sampai ghandruk..kaki terhencot2 sbb sakit stepping down the stairs etc. tapi dia tade hal..xdelak offer ubat ke, pain killer ke ape. and i don't know la pakcik neh bawak first aid ke tak.
btw....oh..i think deurali yg i lalu tu is still far away from the deurali heading to the MBC. hehe. ni deurali yg dekat2 dgn ghorepani-poon hill circle route jer. rasanya..lepas tadapani kan heading to mbc etc.
#some map eja the place as Deorali...some Deurali ..hehe
hmm...part AMS tu..mmg tak bole predict kan...and oh..really u also having weird dreams?..haha..i mimpi 'cari panadol tengah malam'..then 'tetido sampai termiss sunrise kat poon hill' etc. ..teruk betul ams nye penangan neh.

when i was planning for my first trip to nepal mmg i liaise dgn agent dr kathmandu but after exchanging countless emails i was still not happy with the answers he gave me and i deffered paying any deposit and i decided to fly to nepal without any solid plans in my hand. I pun dpt tips supaya jangan bayar dulu kat dalam thread ni jugak...kalau tak silap i dr arwien...But I had 3 weeks...so i could plan our trek accordingly.. That proved to be the best thing i did cuz i dropped him and got myself a new agent. cant stand the bollocks he was dishing up...those agents in kathmandu dont know a toss what they're talking about sbb dorang just co-ordinate the hikes and treks...ade yg tak penah masok camp pun..nak suruh promo? dream on durga! Hahahaha
hey nasib baik uols tak collapse tau! mana boleh buat cepat2...walaupun kite dah buat training before we came our body masih tak boleh adapt lagi kan dgn the horrendous elevation...when we were about to attempt the steps to ulleri my guide dah bgtau dah jangan naik cepat2...dia marah kalau naik cepat2...dia suruh naik pelan2 then stop bila perlu...at your own pace katenya..dan minum banyak air...jangan gulp it down..suffice by sipping it constantly...tapi takut nak minum banyak2 cos dia suruh kami pegi release kat tepi batu besar la..tepi pokok laaa...taknak!!!!
mmg dorang patutnya bawa first aid kit tp kami bawa our own medical supply..coaltar pun kami bawa hahahaha takut seyhhh!!!! if you penat and over exert yourself mmg prone to AMS la jawabnya....dah la penat giler and your body need time to get use to the rigourous movements and also time to acclimatise....like i said earlier i had headaches tp yg in and out of dreams tu yg weird..mmg pill popping je kejanya...
but after 2am everything was ok bila kami dpt tido..the next morning since everyone was fine we went ahead to MBC..
ha'ah la... yg deurali tu i ingat my route to MBC/ABC hari tu..rupanya it's deorali in my map...kalau tak silap kat circuit route pun ade satu lagi deurali ehehehe
i ade jumpa ramai trekkers masa kami lepak2 di pokhara with them having countless seeshaas kat turkish resto yg dekat 3 sisters tu...and me in the midst of their blow afters and they said that the circuit route tu ok je kalau start dr besisahar...even my paragliding pilot said the same thing...
to tell you the truth i would like to attempt that masa lepas ke jomoson hari tu tp sbb winter mmg tak sanggup lah..tapi seronok tau.. dorang kate la..so my second trip that i just had was another 3 weeks of seeking himal and what to do about it..and yes...i have a plan...HAHAHAHA
and satu lagi yg i akan buat is the EBC TAPI i nak recce dulu like i did with the anapurna...buat short hikes dulu..
so rasanya i akan ke namche bazaar and have a looksy-looksy..tu pun katenya cam nak mati je nak ke namche bazaar tu..kat situ boleh tgk sagarmatha..kalau dia panggil2 me maybe i akan make plans.... but otherwise i will stew in the Alps for the time being...
rajin2 la update AJ...i simply love reading it...and yeah.... mine was full of dramas as well ehehehe...I love every single minute of my time in nepal and the 3+3 weeks that i had was simply not enuff...for i will be back!

dr Kathmandu boleh ambil flight ke Pokhara Lukla Jomoson etc..tempat lain tatau sbb tak penah pegi..
kenapa blur pulaks...kan straight to the eyeballs tu ehehehe...jk
4-5 nak trek takde masalah...cumanya kalau nak light2 trekking yg boleh iols suggest is hike from lakeside to peace stupa then down again to the lake...
so go to start of hike...tempat ni semua org pokhara tau...taxi atau transport hotel boleh hantar ke starting point ni...dah naik ke peace stupa uols turun ikut local village menuju ke lake...pastu ambik boat like the sampans back to pokhara side...view all the way up and all the way down is awesome!
satu lagi option....naik ke sarangkot utk tgk sunrise...lepas tu hike down to pokhara.....ni pon view dia teramatlah super scenic...
both hikes are day hikes...tak payah overnight kat teahouses...but i kena bgtau la Kim yg walaupun ni hike fitness jgn ambil senang...
both hikes ni even yg badan fit akan rasa dada nak meletop gak...kaki kena tip top...lututs cannot bunyik2...kena do some training jugak...mmg boleh naik Kim...lela tgk org tua and org gemuk ade je naik sampai atas...but training will help a lot and make a lot of difference...
lelah tu ape? shortness of breath ke? kalaun yea dia kena swim or do some exercise and make her lungs stronger cos nnt nak naik most people yg tak fit akan heave heavily...OK i guess you know what i'm on about..
now pasal trekking....kalau nak trek and ade allocation for trekking for 5 days boleh je buat poonhill trek...tetapi...
hazab!!! sbb ni trekking...yg ni wajib training...mungkin iols ni lembik ehehehe....again the view is magnificent....
another trek yg uols boleh buat is from besisahar di pokhara...tp yg ni walaupun sangat cantik viewnya it's a bit tough on your legs sbb steep...dan sbb steep tu la ade banyak waterfall ehehehe...

Kim..memang ade flight direct dr KL-Kathmandu..AA and MAS..timing pun ok.
pasal trekking kalau 4-5 hari tu..memang recommend buat ghorepani-poon hill, but as mentioned by @LelaRentaka7 , fitness tu penting..and i susah sket nk kasi a go kalau org yg lelah... kot2 apa2 jadi kan... unless training like lela mentioned. lelah kalau sbb hiking n do physical act. i think bole overcome as try to go slower pace.. 5hari tu..kira tak rush...tapi kalau lelah sbb udara kat 3000m nipis n sejuk..susah sket nk kate. this thing different people, different impact..cam i..even dh training bagai etc. still kena simptom2 AMS.
2 options mentioned by lela kat pokhara tu not bad..particularly Sarangkot...short trekking...but go at your pace...jgn terkejar2.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too.
I'm still in Nepal but leaving tomorrow. Had an awesome sauce time in Nepal  , thanks to all your tips, and the rest in here too. They really help.
Is it possible to enjoy Nepal without trekking? Definitely it is! I had just done it. Nepal is a country rich in cultural heritage, its hundred years old temples and palaces are worth visiting. The magestic mountains and serene Lake are reminiscence of those in Europe, just as beautiful. Its people friendly and the delicious food is so affordable.
In my opinion, for those who are going sightseeing, perhaps only spend a day or two, at most 3 days in Kathmandu. Then get out of the crazy city  . Visit Nagarkot and spend a night there. Dont forget to try the teahouse restaurant at the view point. Its Nepalese set is delicious with just the right amount of spices and chili. You can sip tea while gazing at the snow capped mountains so picture perfect in front of you. Ask for lemon ginger tea with honey. I cant get enough of this tea. Their honey is sweet and spicy at the same time. In fact of I bought a couple of jars to take home.
Patan is another place worth visiting. Famous for its Budhist monuments and hindu temples and palaces. It will just simply blow your mind away. Imagine yourself one of the kings wife walking along the palaces courryard . At this place there is also a good tea house that serves delicious 'mo mos, chowmein and different types of tea. Ask for some green chilis in your food. If you think cili padi is hot, this green chilli is double the hotness! I almost cried eating it he he.
Then there Changu Narayan (I forgot the real name), also worth a visit. They have awesome temples here thats just amazing architechture and wood carvings. The village is also beautiful and with scenic and breathtaking view.
Take a flight to Pokhara and stay at this lakeview resort. It is situated just at the river bank and this hotel have a restaurant that has Nepalese cultural show at night (not to mention delicious cocktails...err, if its your thing) and nice fish from the Pewa Lake.
We hired a car with a driver daily to take us everywhere. Some places, like garden of dreams, we just walk. In winter it is not difficult to walk as the weather is not hot.
I was looking for gemstones to buy in Nepal and I bought two beautiful Emarald stones. Amazing color, nice clarity, for USD2k. Worth every penny!
Okay I guess thats all for my review of Kathmandu winter visit, for a nontrekker hehe.
Oh, flight to Pokhara, you dont need to book online. Buy at your hotel for a much cheaper price and dont worry, there's always ticket.
Celebrated the new year in Pokhara, they had street celebration.

Kim, if you nak do Kathmandu saje pun OK...sbb there's a lot of things to see and do within your time tho like I said it's a little tight and cos of time constraint..

You boleh buat banyak activity in one day provided the weather permits.
Lepas tgk sunrise di Sarangkot boleh buat benda lain...contohnya you can go for your hike from Sarangkot and come back to Pokhara in the evening...
the lake is infront of your hotel...nama lake tu Phewa Tal or Phewa Lake or Lake Fewa...
that's a cool place to chill...you can watch the sunset pulak kat situ...have a drink when the sun goes down...snap a few piccas of sunset at the edge of the lake...
ada recommended tasik yg patot gi?
Phewa Lake ni yg paling popular...lake2 yg lain ade tp I only jad the chance to visit the top 3..
Phewa Tal, Begnas Tal and Rupa Tal...
Begnas Tal and Rupa Tal ni outside Pokhara....jauh sikit...kena naik kereta...
and both Begnas and Rupa dekat2...

so kalau dr pokhara nak kathmandu semula better on 1st feb or 2nd feb?
KIM....it's better for you to be back in Kathmandu on the 1st...I would say it's very2 risky to leave Pokhara on the 2nd...

Guide jangan risau...Jangan cari guide di epot...org tak buat mcm tu KIM...
you email to your hotel in Pokhara and make sure they know yg you akan sampai on that date...semua hotel di Kathmandu and Pokhara ade travel desk...so you bgtau your hotel yg you nak do sightseeing and want to use a guide...they will arrange for you to tour Pokhara....
OR you can tell your hotel you need a driver...the driver will take you to the places you wanna go tp kadang2 driver2 ni tak nak jd guide....dorang nak drive saje...kadang2 pulak dengan driver je dah cukup sbb ade driver yg rajin bgtau info and ikut kite jln2....so driver cum guide...tp kalau dpt driver yg sendu masa tu mmg kite wish kite ambik guide skali la...
btw uols antara yeti airlines dgn budha airlines mana better?
Between these two mostly will go for Buddha for safety and pilots dicipline...Yeti comes second...any other airlines like simrik.....well...say your prayers banyak2 masa dlm flight...
