It's not as if I have a bad voice: Bipasha basu
For once Bipasha is clueless. "It was terrible. I was the first one to dub for Phir Hera Pheri. I completed my dubbing even before the film was completed. I've no idea why my voice has been dubbed by a dubbing artiste, and that too not so nicely."
As usual she seems inclined to leave the unpleasantness behind. " Anyway the producer Feroz Nadiadwala is apologetic about it.
Apparently the guy Rajiv who was handling everything, informed Feroz that I had left for London to shoot for Abbas-Mustan's film without dubbing when in fact I had dubbed at least three months back. This film has been in the making for quite some time.
And since I don't like to dub for any film at the last minute匨y voice is sensitive匢 finished my portions. I was dubbing for another film when I told my secretary, 'Let's wrap up Hera Pheri too, I mean 2."
Since Bipasha's voice is by now a distinctive part of her personality the strange tone used on her sticks out like a sore thumb卭r throat.
"It's quite sad. Because this strange incident apart I had no problems whatsoever with the unit of Phir Hera Pheri. I had a ball shooting the film. And though I had a small part, I played a huge part in the film's promotion."
Bipasha would just like to enjoy the film's success. "There's no point in bringing any negativity to a project that's brought sunshine all around. How my dubbing track disappeared is a mystery only the people concerned can solve. I wouldn't have spoken about it, if people weren't so confused about my voice.
If I had spoken in my own voice it'd have only added to my performance. But there's no performance in the voice in my film. The person who has dubbed for me can't even speak English properly.
My facial expressions are one thing, the voice is doing something else. What could be the reason for my voice being dubbed by some strange unknown voice? There has been no logical explanation so far. They say they lost my track.
What could be the reason for paying a dubbing extra money to do my dubbing when I had already done it, and having her do such a bad job of it? I was very upset."
Earlier when Bipasha had just started out her voice was dubbed in her first film Ajnabee and then in Raaz.
"Ajnabee was dubbed because I was shooting for the climax of Raaz. And Raaz because the Bhatts love dubbing all their leading ladies with Mona Ghosh's voice so that all the ladies in Bhatts' films sound the same."
She pauses for breath. "It's not as if I've a bad voice. Whatever it's my voice. And it adds to my personality. Anyway I'm now focusing on the release of Corporate. I'm very excited about it."
Isn't there too little of Bipasha in Phir Hera Pheri? "There was quite a bit of me in the film. But all edited for the betterment of the film. It got too long. It's predominantly the story of these three guys. And they went into a sequel because people loved seeing them. That was made clear from the start."

I wish I could fly: Hrithik
"It feels like 'Kaho Na...Pyar Hai'," Hrithik Roshan confesses shyly as crowds roar at the Gaiety theatre in Mumbai where his latest movie "Krrish" is being screened.
"Actually, better than 'Kaho Na...' The response so far is very, very humbling. I was really nervous about how audiences would react to a kind of character they had never seen before. But what I've seen so far has been beyond all expectations."
"I've been to Chandan and two theatres in PVR and now Gaiety," Hrithik told, trying to speak over the roar of hysterical audiences.
Hrithik visited four theatres in Mumbai on the first day of the film's screening.
The night before that, he and his father held a special private screening of "Krrish" at Yashraj Studios for friends from the industry.
"Mr (Amitabh) Bachchan was clapping and cheering. It was a great moment for me. Rani Mukerji, Shahid Kapur and Kareena Kapoor, Zayed Khan and Rakeysh Mehra were there...I can't even begin to express how they reacted."
On the opening day of "Krrish", children responded with unparalleled gusto to Hrithik's stunts. "Yes, I know. Kids seem to love the film. I don't know what the final outcome will be. But I haven't felt so overwhelmed for a long time."
Rakesh Roshan, Hrithik and co-star Priyanka Chopra left Friday night for the London premiere of "Krrish".
"The experience is almost magical. I feel proud not for myself but our family. We've a director, a music director (uncle Rajesh Roshan) and an actor in our home. When we started 'Krrish' even dad was a little nervous. But now we know we're going about it the right way."
The actor is in Namibia at the moment shooting for Dhoom 2 but badly missing Suzzane and his new born son.
"If I could make a wish for myself, I'd wish that I could fly back to Mumbai right now, |

Big B lets you win: Abhishek
You never beat Amitabh Bachchan who lets you win, says a modest Bachchan junior after emerging on the top spot in the 'Best supporting actor' category at both IIFA and Filmfare, for which his father was also nominated.
"I think it's a priviledge to share the frame with him," Abhishek Bachchan says. The father-son duo share screen space in the forthcoming Karan Johar flick 'Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna.'
After a string of box office failures, the Bollywood star is finally emerging on his own to taste commercial and critical success.
"Keep trying is the best piece of advice my parents have given me," Bachchan says, something that helped him through his lean phase.
The ubersexual hunk who is also starring in a sequel -- 'Dhoom II'-- and a remake -- 'Umrao Jaan' feels that while a remake is a director's interpertation of the story, a sequel has to be unique.
The 29-year-old believes that these are interesting times for an actor. "The day of the niche is over. No longer is the actor an angry young man, the romantic or action hero. There is everything in one movie and the job of the actor is to entertain," says Bachchan, who was here last week for a promotional event.
AB Corps, the production house that had pushed the Bachchans to penury and later been revived, is making five movies, two of them starring the junior Bachchan himself.
About the parallel with his father's career trajectory where Amitabh saw a row of flops followed by phenomenal success and then lost almost everything only to emerge phoenix-like, Abhishek says he'd love to replicate everything his father's been through, lows included.
"I treat the lows just like the high," he says.
Bachchan says his family and the love of the audience are important for him. He admits though that "money is important because it's a commercial world."
For someone who is considered a style icon, Bachchan says he leaves it to his mother to decide on what he will wear. He says he sports the rings on the finger because it brings a smile on his mother's face.
On his Hollywood plans, Bachchan says that at the moment he's focussing on projects within India.

Hrithik Roshan asks young fans not to copy his movie's stunts
Enjoy the action, but don't copy the stunts. That's what Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan wants to tell star-struck fans about his new movie ``Krrish,'' in which he plays a superhero.
The actor's appeal came after a fan suffered multiple fractures when he leaped from a balcony in a cinema hall in the Madhya Pradesh while trying to emulate Roshan's stunts in ``Krrish.'' The movie opened to packed houses last week.
``The action scenes are meant to be enjoyed, not imitated. Please, do not indulge in these stunts,'' Roshan said in a letter to his fans published in Monday's edition of the Mumbai Mirror newspaper.
In the action thriller, Roshan's character transforms from a simple village boy to a youth with super powers. Roshan trained for months in Hong Kong with action choreographer Tony Ching Siu-tung to prepare for the stunts.
Roshan says he performed the action scenes with ``full safety precautions'' guided by a specialist team of some 40 people.
``Those action scenes are dangerous. I undertook them under close and minute supervision,'' his message read. ``It required immense training, focus and hard work for it to be executed in the correct way.''
Roshan also slips in a social message by telling his fans to help people rather than attempt to emulate the superhero in ``Krrish,'' who leaps between buildings and glides over rivers.
``A super hero is one who extends a helping hand to the needy,'' said Roshan. ``I'd be happy if you kids touched people's lives instead of trying to imitate my stunts.''
The film is a sequel to Roshan's hit ``Koi Mil Gaya,'' which told the story of a mentally challenged boy befriending an alien.

Krrish: No one can dance like Hrithik
Krrish is an awesome movie!
In this Rakesh Roshan film, Hrithik Roshan looks handsome, graceful and pure. If you have seen the film, you must have noticed how he looks so decently dressed -- unlike others actors who tend to dress up (or down) too much. Hrithik looked really cool!
He was very casual and being himself.
Priyanka Chopra looked innocent and her clothes looked funky and different. She obviously could not cope up with Hrithik's dancing talent, but then, who can dance like Hrithik?
In fact, his dancing and the stunts make Krrish the exciting movie it is. I thought Rekha, too did a fine job.
It seems the way the film was directed, everything just fell in place.
If I must find a negative, I thought Rekha's make-up did not make her look convincingly old. On the other hand, Hrithik as an old man looked so realistic!
The story appeared to have been copied from the Superman and Spiderman series. Even some scenes seemed to have been copied from the film Spider-man, especially the scene in which Hrithik is climbing the mountain when Priyanka falls down from the rock-face.
Also, was the film really shot in Singapore? Somehow one did not get that feeling since we did not see anything specific to Singapore.
Rajesh Roshan's music was sweet. But I feel the visuals accompanying the music were more awesome, especially in the song Dil lagiya.
Hrithik's performance was spectacular. I wish Hrithik would start a dancer's academy like Shiamak Davar, so his fans can learn these steps from him!
The best part about the movie was Hrithik. I just can't wait for the sequel.

I'm King Khan, says Shah Rukh Khan of his superstar status
Bollywood's leading man Shah Rukh Khan is confident he will continue to hold sway over the country's movie industry for several years.
Khan, 39, told the Mumbai-based DNA newspaper in an interview published on Wednesday that there weren't any new actors on the horizon to unseat him.
``This is King Khan. I'm the Ronaldinho of acting,'' he said referring to Brazil's football star. ``I'll be there for another five to six years then maybe you can think of some other actor.''
Khan is regularly rated as the country's top actor in polls by movie media. Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan and popular star Aamir Khan were relegated to second and third positions, trailing Khan, in an annual ranking of actors published by Filmfare magazine earlier this year.
Khan has starred as a macho action hero and romantic lead in more than 60 Indian movies since his 1992 debut. Media has often said it would be a while before other promising actors such as Abhishek Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan could fill Khan's shoes.
``No newcomer is around to oust me,'' said Khan. ``It's terrific. I'm respected, recognized ... Many magazines call me the icon of the country. The fact is I'm blessed, it has been a charmed life.''
Khan's blockbusters include ``Main Hoon Na'' (I'm Here), ``Veer Zaara,'' ``Kal Ho Naa Ho'' (Tomorrow May Never Come), ``Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham'' (Sometimes Happiness, Sometimes Sorrow) and ``Devdas.''
His new releases over the next couple of months will be ``Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna'' (Never Say Goodbye) and ``Don.''

Saif Ali Khan plays evil villager to prove critics wrong
Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan says he decided to play a rough villager in an Indian adaptation of Shakespeare's ``Othello'' to show detractors his depth and range as an actor.
Often seen on the big screen as a smooth-talking city slicker, Khan told the Mumbai Mirror newspaper he wanted to surprise his fans and critics in ``Omkara,'' due for release in August.
``People think I can't carry off the rustic lingo and attitude, so I must prove them wrong.'' Khan said in an interview published Tuesday. ``A lot of people feel I can only play the rich, pampered boy. That fueled my desire to prove that I can do the unexpected.''
He didn't give details about his role, but said it was hard work preparing for it since he didn't want to come across as ``slimy.''
``This role required maximum preparation,'' Khan said. ``In my other roles all I had to do was to get the clothes and makeup right and then learn the lines.''
He said he wanted his ``evil character to have a certain dignity and strength.''
Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, the movie features Ajay Devgan in the lead and actresses Kareena Kapoor and Bipasha Basu.

There is a rumor that Saif Ali Khan and Rosa have dispute
There is a rumor that Saif Ali Khan and Rosa have dispute over her decision to find work that gives her satisfaction. Saif denies them saying, "We have no dispute. In fact, I've constantly encouraged and goaded her to do something outside our home. And now when she's actually doing so, I'm completely one with her decision." He only signed Siddharth Anand's film opposite Rani Mukherjee. On this matter he reveals, "Siddharth wants me to be in all his films. That's a refreshing compliment. I feel inspired. His faith in me kind of wakes me up and gives me the impetus to be one of the fittest heroes in town."

Rekha was Amitabh Bachchan抯 first wife according to Past Life Researcher
No this is definitely not a joke, but a seriously researched possibility according to researcher of past lives, Dr Walter Semkiw. Amitabh Bachchan had been linked to a plethora of beautiful actresses during his hey days and one of them was the sensuous Rekha. However according to Dr. Walter, Amitabh was a Victorian actor known as Edwin Booth during the 1860抯. And according to the researcher, Rekha is the reincarnation of Booth抯 first wife, Mary Devlin Booth.
Dr Walter Semkiw is a member of the board of directors of the International Association for Regression, Research and Therapies. In his book 態orn Again |

Health Minister wants Shahrukh, Aamir, Aishwarya and John to stop endorsing soft
Some of the biggest bollywood stars have been endorsing soft drinks for a long time now. And now even the rising stars in bollywood are joining the bandwagon. Shahrukh Khan has been endorsing Pepsi for a long time, Aamir has been seen in several Coca-Cola ads, Aishwarya Rai too has begun to endorse Coca-Cola and John is now doing several ads for diet Pepsi. Well the list of celebrities endorsing soft drinks is endless and they also receive a good price for these endorsements. However those related to the health ministry are not happy about celebrities promoting soft drinks.
Health minister A Ramadoss does not want celebrities and even sports stars to endorse these cola drinks. He says 揝tars like Shahrukh, Aamir, Aishwarya and John should desist from taking up these ads that are detrimental to the health of children. |

Shahrukh Khan抯 new ad campaign with actress Vidya Malvade
Shahrukh Khan is the brand ambassador for the car brand, Santro. King Khan has done several ads for this car brand. Now he is all set to do another ad, this time with a bollywood actress who is not very well-known. Shahrukh will be doing the ad with actress Vidya Malvade. Vidya is a model turned actress who made her debut in a Bhatt film, Inteha alongside Ashmit Patel. Unfortunately the actress抯 acting career has still not taken off, in spite of debuting with a well-known filmmaker.
Vidya Malvade was earlier an air-hostess; soon she was noticed by ad filmmaker Prahlad Kakkar who added several ads to her portfolio. She later switched on to films and is still optimistic about getting a lucky break in her film career. Vidya will be doing a fun ad with Shahrukh for Santro. The ad features Khan as her husband who is obsessed with the brand name of his car. Vidya plays Khan抯 wife in the ad and they both share a few funny moments together. Earlier on Shahrukh Khan featured alongside actress Gayatri Joshi in an ad for Santro, after that Gayatri was noticed and her film career took off. Joshi starred alongside Shahrukh in her first movie itself. Unfortunately the talented actress gave up a career in films post marriage.
This is a big assignment for Vidya Malvade, as she will get more exposure due to Khan抯 presence. Whether her career too takes off after this, remains to be seen. Vidya was also seen in another film Mashooqa. Unfortunately both her films had a disastrous response at the box-office. As for Shahrukh, he is currently awaiting the release of his two big films, Farhan Akhtar抯 remake of Don and Karan Johar抯 Kabhie Alvida Na Kehna. Hopefully they will do much better than his last films, Paheli and Swades did at the box-office.
Let抯 see if some of the SRK magic can rub off on Vidya抯 film career too!

- Harian Metro. |
