No dark clouds, rains for Bipasha

With the monsoons here in right earnest, the world is now divided into those who love the rains and those you prefer staying dry and would wish for the sun to shine through the dark clouds.

Like the Bipasha Basu who confesses, "I'm a very bright and sunny person. I don't like the rains because it gets gloomy and boring and brings work to a halt. We can't shoot outdoors when it rains, which results in a lot of lost time and money."

Just back from London, where she shot for an Abbas-Mustan film with Ajay Devgan and Sanjay Dutt, Basu continues, "It rained even in London when we were shooting outdoors, which is bad for the producers."

She finds nothing romantic about the rains or sharing umbrellas with beau John Abraham as they're mostly shooting for separate films. "The only time I share my umbrella is with my spot boy when it rains during shootings. The rains are certainly not romantic for me." Maybe John can change her mind this rainy season.

Bipasha Basu opens Khazana showrooms

Khazana, the jewellers from Chennai, opened two showrooms here on Wednesday. Bollywood actor Bipasha Basu inaugurated the outlets on Commercial Street and at Jayanagar 3rd Block.

Khazana, who have been present in Tamil Nadu for over 10 years and in Andhra Pardesh for the past one year, offer gold jewellery certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards with the "hallmark" on all items. Their other showrooms are in Mumbai and Kolkata. The management of Kahazana said they did not add any "making charges" and customers only paid for the price of gold, working out to about Rs. 40 less per gram compared to most other jewellery shops. While the average gold rate prevailing at most jewellers now at Rs. 845 per gram, Khazana charged only Rs. 805. The opening of the two showrooms coincides with the marriage season.

Bipasha breaks down

The actress sobs on friend Abhishek Bachchan抯 shoulder after a phone conversation with John Abraham.

Of late, both John Abraham and Bipasha Basu have gone blue in the face denying rumours about their relationship being on the rocks.

But now we have fresh news on this front. Apparently, when Bipasha was shooting with Abhishek Bachchan in Rio, she was very disturbed.

Everyone thought that it was because she was worried about John who was shooting in Kabul. "She was worried as she could feel John drifting away from the relationship,"says our source.

Incidentally, one day on the sets Bipasha wept on Abhishek抯 shoulder. "Abhishek is a very good friend of Bipasha. She was weeping profusely just after having a conversation with John over the phone. She probably confided in Abhishek. Apparently, Abhishek promised to talk to John and try to sort out the problem between the two,"says our source.

According to the source, Abhishek did call John. "In fact, Ash too felt bad for Bipasha,"continues our source. "After Abhishek called John and had a talk with him, there was some improvement in the relationship... However, last month John was not in touch with Bipasha while he was on the world tour. Whenever Bipasha questioned him for not calling her, he would give vague excuses. But the fact is that, John bonded with a bombshell during the world tour."

Both actors are denying the stories of a split. When asked about a split at a press conference, Bipasha however only said, "I am not the kind to talk about my personal life to get media attention, just before the release of my film. It's cheap and I don't subscribe to such publicity."   

Is Mallika the cause of John-Bips rift?

The Bollywood grapevine says all's not well between Bipasha and John. And the cause reportedly is Mallika Sherawat.

Rumours have been flying fast and furious about the trouble between the golden couple Bipasha Basu and John Abraham. Now there's more buzz. It's said that bombshell Mallika Sherawat is the reason behind the rift.

It was Mallika's proximity to John during their recent world tour that upset Bipasha, say sources. Bipasha did take time out from her shooting schedule in London to go and cheer John at his show in Birmingham and everything seemed fine till then.

However, trouble began when she heard of the John-Mallika link-up. "Things are definitely not fine between John and Bipasha after the whole Mallika rumour.

There is a crack in the relationship, but they have not split," says a source. John, who was in Cape Town has just returned to Mumbai and so has Bipasha who was shooting in Namibia.

"It's just a lovers' quarrel between John and Bipasha," says a close friend of the couple. "All relationships go through ups and downs. It's not unusual. They are very much together," the friend adds.

There are rumours that when Bipasha was shooting with Abhishek Bachchan for Dhoom 2 in Rio, she was very disturbed. Incidentally, one day on the sets Bipasha wept profusely.

"Bipasha shares a very good relationship with the Bachchans and Abhishek is a very good friend of Bipasha's. She was weeping profusely just after having a conversation with John over the phone. She probably confided in Abhishek," the source adds.

Meanwhile, both actors are denying the stories of a split. In fact, John gave a press statement saying that he is still with Bipasha. When asked about the split, Bipasha only said, "I am not the kind to talk about my personal life to get media attention."

'Sharmilaji should support Shilpa'

The NCW backs the actress in the obscenity case, says Tagore should support her too.

Ram Kamal Mukherjee the 'obscenity' case filed against Shilpa Shetty by an advocate in Madurai took a different turn yesterday when the National Commission for Women (NCW) pledged complete support to the actress.

Shilpa's spokesperson Dale Bhagwagar, who submitted a memorandum to the NCW in New Delhi on the actress's behalf, informed us that Shilpa was away in Bangkok shooting for Anil Sharma's Apne.

Shilpa, who is currently shooting in Bangkok, said she would rather talk about her film than the case. "Ask me about Apne and I will talk,"she laughs.

"I am thoroughly enjoying the shoot. It's just like an extended family. Most of the time, we're simply having fun on the sets,"she says.

When probed further, Shilpa said, "The matter is subjudice and I can't talk about it. But I have faith in our judicial system."

Dr. Girija Vyas, chairperson of NCW, says, "The case has been misdirected at Shilpa Shetty. When the Censor Board has cleared her film for public viewing, from where does the question of obscenity arise?

Sharmila Tagore, being the chief of the Censor Board, should also come forth in Shilpa's support. In fact, all self-respecting women of India should."

An advocate in Madurai, T Dakshinamoorthy, filed a case against Shilpa Shetty in a magistrate court, accusing her of obscenity. He did this after one of her photographs was published in a Tamil magazine called Tamil Murasu.

The photo is actually a freeze-frame shot from her superhit Kannada film Auto Shankar, which was approved by the Censor Board for universal viewing.

While Bhagwagar denies that Shilpa has received any summons and says that the actress did not pose exclusively for that picture, there have been reports to the contrary.

Menurut Saiful, beliau dimasukkkan ke hospital selama seminggu selepas mengalami demam berpanjangan. Bagaimanapun, doktor masih belum dapat mengesan penyakitnya selepas seminggu dirawat.

Memikirkan banyak tugasnya yang belum selesai, tanpa mempedulikan kesihatannya, Saiful terus angkat kaki lalu melarikan diri, lapor akhbar Berita Minggu Malaysia.

Walaupun semasa di lokasi penggambaran kepalanya masih juga sakit dan demam panasnya tetap belum reda, namun, tugas tetap diteruskan jua.

'Dulu kalau demam atau sakit kepala, saya hanya makan panadol. Tetapi apabila sudah demam berpanjangan, saya jadi pelik. Doktor pun tak dapat nak mengesan penyakit sebenar saya itu.

'Saya ada juga cuba-cuba nak berubat kampung, tapi lain pula jadinya. Mereka bukannya nak ubatkan kita, tapi nak ambil foto dan autograf. Aduh lagi sakit dibuatnya,' katanya sambil ketawa.

MAWI TAK JADI PUTUS TUNANG?
KULAI: Juara Akademi Fantasia musim ketiga, Asmawi Ani atau Mawi, yang masih kesedihan disebabkan kematian ayahnya kini menyerahkan kepada kakaknya, Rashidah, untuk menjawab soalan mengenai khabar angin beliau telah putus tunang dengan Cik Nor Diana Mohd Naim.

Cik Rashidah, 35 tahun, berpendapat 'masih ada kemungkinan bagi Mawi dan Nor Diana berbaik semula.'

'Kami sedang dalam kesedihan saat ini. Ayah kami baru saja meninggal dunia. Beliau sakit hampir sebulan dan kami tidak ada masa untuk memikirkan perkara lain,' kata Cik Rashidah di Felda Taib Andak, kelmarn.

Encik Ani Ahmad, 66 tahun, meninggal dunia akibat infeksi paru-paru di Institut Jantung Negara di Sabtu lalu dan mayatnya dibawa balik ke Felda Taib Andak, dan dikebumi di sana.

Cik Rashidah berkata hanya selepas tempoh berkabung keluarganya akan mengun jungi keluarga Nor Diana untuk membincangkan soal pertunangan mereka.

'Lawatan tersebut tidak bererti kami akan membatalkan pertunangan mereka.

'Jika mereka masih saling mencintai satu sama lali, perkahwinan akan diteruskan,' kata beliau sebagaimana ditukil akhbar New Straits Times semalam.

Menurut beliau, mereka sekeluarga termasuk Mawi akan berbincang mengenai perkara itu, mungkin selepas kenduri tahlil pada hari ketiga sebelum membuat sebarang keputusan.

Menurut beliau, selepas berita Mawi mahu memutuskan pertunangan dengan Nor Diana atau lebih dikenali sebagai Ina disiarkan media, beliau tidak sempat mendapat pengesahan daripada adiknya.

'Pada masa sama, kematian bapa menyebabkan keadaan tidak sesuai untuk membincangkan perkara berkenaan,' katanya selepas majlis penge bumian ayahnya selesai, kelmarin.

Cik Rashidah berkata keluarganya tidak menolak kemungkinan masalah yang timbul antara penyanyi itu dengan tunangnya dapat dijernihkan semula tetapi terpulang kepada Mawi untuk menentukannya.

'Tak tahulah... tak mustahil kasih mereka bertaut kembali. Tetapi dalam keadaan sekarang tidak sesuai untuk membincangkan soal tersebut,' jelasnya. - BHM, NST.

Trouble between Karishma and Sanjay?

Is there any trouble between actress Karishma Kapoor and her hubby Sanjay Kapoor? Karishma's recent visit to Mumbai has made the rumour mills working overtime again.

As per rumours, Karishma recently traveled UK along with her little daughter and mom Babita. Karishma also spent some quality time with younger sis Kareena and her beau Shahid who were in the UK for their 'Rockstars' world tour. But husband Sanjay neither accompanied them nor did he join them later on. According to sources "Things are not working out between Sanjay and Karishma. It's his habits that are causing the strain."

According to a few sources Karishma wants to stay with her mom indefinitely in Mumbai. She has also planned to enroll her little daughter Samaira in a playschool in Mumbai. Sanjay Kapur is a Delhi based businessman while Karishma prefers being in Mumbai where her entire family lives. This is only one of the many differences that have cropped up between Sanjay and Karishma. It is also being said that Sanjay lives an extremely flamboyant lifestyle in Delhi to which Karishma who is a simple girl cannot adjust.

Also Karishma wants to make her comeback in film, and Sanjay doesn't want his wife pose before camera again. So there is difference. However neither Karishma nor Sanjay nobody have confirmed the rumour.

SRK hosted a special dinner for Hrithik!

Hrithik Roshan hosted a special screening for Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar before the release of 'Krrish'. Needless to say, Shah Rukh liked the film very much and also appreciated Hrithik's acting in the film. Recently we heard some more of their great bonding. Of late when Hrithik made a flying visit to London to promote his film 'Krrish', SRK, who was holidaying there with his family, hosted a special dinner for Hrithik. Arjun Rampal, who's currently shooting there for his home-production with Chunky Pandey, also joined the celebration dinner. Hrithik is truly very touched by King Khan's gesture.
