This scenario is a little tricky. The key question is: Can you use Remote Desktop in Windows XP to remotely manage an older operating system? The answer is yes, actually. The caveat, of course, is that you must first install Terminal Services on the Windows 2000 Server computer and that you must be a member of the Administrators local group on the target server computer. Recall that Microsoft Terminal Services, when it operates in Remote Administration mode, allows two concurrent connections from administrators. You can then use Remote Desktop from any Windows XP Professional computer to manage the Windows 2000 Server computers. An interesting side-note is that the Windows XP Professional computers do not have to be members of the host server抯 domain. That is to say, you can use Remote Desktop on your Windows XP Professional home computer with a high-speed Internet connection to manage any Windows computer (Windows 2000 Server, Windows Server 2003 or Windows XP Professional) on your corporate network梡rovided you can get through your company抯 perimeter network security.

nak tanya la pasal RD ni..kalo host tu pakai OS ME ke, Win2000 bleh x..client pulak guna XP...pastu kalo 2000 bleh jadi host kat mana nak cari ekk..kalo XP bleh g perfomance & maintenance..kalo 2000 kene install programe ke

Untuk VNC on Windows XP, anda kena set windows security dulu, utk bagi access pada VNC supaya dapat berjalan lancar tanpa gangguan sistem XP.(but depends whether you disable it or not).
lagi satu, anda kena assign satu port dimana pada port inilah VNC akan berkomunikasi.Port range biasanya 1-65565 (cari kot google).
Jika modem DSL anda mempunyai kebolehan pengaturcaraan NAT (ntah btul ke tak istilah) atau Virtual Server, spt DLINK DSL 500T, sesenang je anda configure port forward.

yg guna rdp tu, untuk host pc, kita enable je la rdp tu kan.. pas2 kite provide nama comp yg kita nk masuk/control.. lps 2, die mintak username and password kn? kite nk enter username & password sape? host or client punye? |

password username untuk client pc.
bila u setkan remote desktop mesti ada dua.
server.client.
kat client punya pc bila u install,di setting ada pilihan untuk letak password,katakan kamu letak 1212
bila server nak connect dgn client,
dia akan mintak password
masukkan 1212
leh masuk client
kalau masukkan 1213
taleh masuk.
kalau masukkan 12345
pun takleh
kena masukkan 1212
baru leh guna desktop client.
yang -penting ada dua pc,semua kena install remote desktop,
cuma yang beza
tetapkan mana satu klien,mana satu server. |

correct. if you want to use windows xp built-in rdp, you need to enable it on the target pc. for example, if you have two pcs, pcA and pcB. pcA is your pc. pcB is the target pc. enable rdp on pcB. make sure you know local admin username on pcB. if not, create one and add it to local admin group (if i'm not mistaken, only user with admin privilege can do rdp). then, to connect to pcB from pcA, launch rdp and:
under username, enter: pcB_name_or_ip_address/pcB_local_admin
under password, enter: pcB_local_admin_password
once connected, you can login to pcB and you need to use local_admin access. the latest rdp version will log you in automaticall (no need to enter the info twice). make sure nobody is using pcB because the user can cancel the operation. the way windows xp rdp works is, when you rdp to pcB, it will log off whoever is currently logging on pcB.
