emm dah tinggal 2 mgu lagi nak abis...huhu pas nie takyah jumper rajes n hendon lg
tapi kan aku ada 3 choice nak pilih, sama ada nak jadi lect under young lect scheme uitm (aku gune result BLS Hons aku, tapi result hons hampeh jer, sket lg nak 3..)
nak join AG chambers atau PTD (sbb aku scholar JPA)
atau paling busuk2 pun wat chambering (nie kire last choice lerr)
raser maner better..tapi most lect mcm tak suke aku amik young lect...better practice lerr...rajes anti giler kalo aku nak trus jd lect huhu...tapi lect yg memahami aku support laa...yela, saper taknak sambung master kat oversea sume ditanggung uitm huhu....
ape pn choice kat tangan aku...
sesaper nak advice aku nie tolong2 laa.... |

ari tue rajes ada cter kater skrg trend ramai masuk AG tapi then kuar balik sbb contract basis...aku dgr kat AG ada 2nd interview, kalo tak lepas makna tetiap tahun kene renew contract...ramai gak senior aku bengang, ada nak apply lect...ada gak nak chambering, maklumla contract basis doesnt mean u can directly called to the bar after this....
ada cter gak, senior aku baru grad fist class tapi compare ngan kwn dier yg tak seberapa gred...dorang gaji ms chambie dah beza, kwn aku 1st class nie dapt dalam rm700 tapi member yg result tak power nie dah ecah seribu lbh and mgkn kene retain ngan firm...so member aku 1st class nie mcm bengang laa so nak masuk AG balik tapi ari tue dah tolak so takleh masuk lagi....
skrg tak tau aper cter...emm sometimes i think grade doesnt mean anything but keep good and hardworking will make ur suceed ;) |

kalau nak byk bayaran masa chambering, kena la pandai2 survey firm mana yg offer better bayaran... but tgk jugak long term... byk belajar ke tak kat firm tu... ada peluang nak naik ke tak... |

After graduation in 1989.. I wanted to relax.. my dad asked me to continue
studying.. go for LL.M.. tapi I said, no.. otak dah tak boleh terima.. my dad
got me a place to read in chambers in KL.. I said I wanted to return to Kuching..
I stayed at home doing basically nothing.. then decided to help my mum
(now Almarhumah) at her tadika in the morning and tuition center in the
afternoon.. registered as guru sandaran with Education Dept.. became a
substitute teacher for a few months.. my dad got worried.. he found me
a place to read in chambers in Kuching.. I couldn't say no this time.. so I
completed my chambering.. then got married in November 1990.. few months
later, I was called to the Bar.. had my name entered on the Roll of Advocates
Sarawak...but I didn't practise.. got a phone call from Education Department..
became a substitute teacher again.. my dad got worried.. and he suggested,
why not open my own firm.. set up office at my mum's tuition center.. the
building belonged to my family.. I said sorry, no experience .. my dad got worried..
asked me to apply for a government job.. I was called for interview by Public
Service Commission.. didn't get the job at the land office as advertised.. but a
few months later, I received a letter to attend another interview at the City Council..
post of Legal Officer.. which I never applied for.. but I got the job... and reported for
duty on 21 November 1991, 7 months pregnant.. had my first child on 4.1.1992..
I had a miscarriage in 1994.. so sad I lost my baby.. My first-born turned out to be
an only child.. now my son Hadi is 16 years old... in Form 4 Science 1, a brilliant student..
got straight A's for UPSR and PMR.. also active in sports, badminton, chess..
and represented the state in Tilawah Al-Quran..
8 years after holding the post at City Council, I got an offer to continue my studies
at UNIMAS Kota Samarahan, Sarawak.. Master of Science in Human Resource
Development .. State Scholarship.. full scholarship.. full pay.. with book allowance..
and a trip to Adelaide, Australia.. I spent 12 months doing my Master degree..
(including a Graduate Certificate in Action Research from Gibaran Research
Institute, Adelaide, Australia).. which was also part of the UNIMAS requirement..
a special programme with the Government of Sarawak.. upon graduation, had to sign a
bond to work for 2 years with government.. but after almost 17 years on the job..
I am still here at City Council.. still holding the same job.. now in my comfort zone..
have gained the necessary experience.. but too scared to go out to set up my own firm..
Last January to March, I also had a stint as a part-time tutor at Open University
Malaysia.. conducting mini-lectures/tutorials, giving tests, moderating online
participation (something like this forum) and marking assignments... the subject
I taught was Undang-undang Pekerjaan dan Perindustrian.. I only worked there
for one semester.. but after my mum passed away on 1.3.2008, I didn't feel like
continuing.. so here I am.. feeling bored and unchallenged.. and I took the plunge..
found myself posting an invitation to forumers at this Board.. to ask me questions
on Malaysian law.. as if I am an expert on everything..
Hmm.. thinking back.. I have been Blessed with good fortune.. Alhamdulillah..!
To all of you young lawyers out there, I wish you all the best.. don't let opportunities
pass you by.. take care and May Allah Bless you..
