Holloway learning the lessons

Blackpool boss Ian Holloway is eager to learn the lessons of his side's 6-0 thrashing at the hands of Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

The Seasiders started life in the top-flight with a 4-0 win at Wigan Athletic, but crashed back down to earth in north London, being torn apart after Ian Evatt was sent off with the visitors just one goal behind.

Holloway told the club's official website: "It's a harsh lesson, isn't it? I thought some of their football was scintillating. That's how it should be played, on the grass. It hardly came off the grass.

"There's plenty of evidence for me to work on and plenty more things to do. We've got to pick ourselves up and get back to the training ground. I just think we were a little bit overawed by how quick they were.

"What I will say is that there were a lot of things that were wrong with the unit today. I don't expect us to be a unit yet. I haven't had near enough of a chance to work with the lads that I've got in a defensive structure.

"Last year we weren't that good defensively, but we outscored people.

"We've got to get enough points to stay up, that's all that matters. Did I expect to beat these? It would have been nice if we could, but not really. Let's get on with it.

"We'll go back to work and see if we can emulate what they're trying to do, because it's beautiful to watch."

Blackpool FC boss Ian Holloway delighted with Luke Varney display against Fulham FC

Blackpool FC manager Ian Holloway has praised new loan signing Luke Varney after he scored on his debut in a 2-2 home draw with Fulham FC.

Varney, signed on a season-long loan deal from Derby on Friday, put his side ahead in a 2-2 draw against Fulham which was their first ever Premier League match at a revamped Bloomfield Road.

Holloway said: "Luke has got pace and his game suits the way I want to play. It looked like he had been with us all his life.

"If you realise he has just walked into the building, how hard is my job? It is not easy. Players go here and there. They carry their kitbags. Sometimes it suits them, sometimes it doesn't.

"Hopefully he will have a wonderful relationship with us and keep doing what he did today.

"That goal I am absolutely delighted with. It was some of the best football any team of mine has ever produced. Then we lose the ball easily and they equalise, so we have some harsh lessons to learn."

Bobby Zamora had given Fulham the lead with a firm header, but a Varney effort deflected in by John Pantsil and his debut goal gave the Seasiders the lead until Dickson Etuhu stole a point.

Blackpool manager Ian Holloway 'bursting with pride' after beating Newcastle

By Gareth Lovell
11 Sep 2010 19:17:00

Ian Holloway praised goalkeeper Matt Gilks as well as the rest of his Blackpool side after an impressive win at St James' Park over Newcastle United.

Goals by Charlie Adam and DJ Campbell secured victory for the Tangerines to make it seven points from their opening four games in the Premier League.

The Blackpool boss was clearly delighted by the win and speaking to BBC Sport after the match lavished praise on his team.

"We rode our luck with some fantastic saves from Matt Gilks but some of that was the best I've seen from my boys," he said.

"They keep amazing me with hunger and desire and I'm bursting with pride at the moment.”

The win should fill the Tangerines with confidence and they will surely need it as up next is a trip to Stamford Bridge and a date with champions Chelsea.

p/s: walopon kitorg kene rejam previous match tp kitorg menang tau minggu ni. apa barang sapot tim burung tuh. burung puyuh goreng kunyit pun sodap.
