Eto'o: Booking Not Deliberate
Samuel Eto'o has denied deliberately picking up a booking in order to miss el Cl醩ico on Wednesday in case there was a chance that Bar鏰 would have to perform the welcoming ceremony for the new champions.
The Cameroonian striker joined Deco in being ruled out of the game after both received yellow cards against Valencia and will now not have to welcome Los Merengues on to the pitch in the Bernab閡.
Madrid won the title on Sunday evening and it is traditional for their next opponents to line up and applaud them on to the pitch, something that Eto'o may have found difficult to swallow.
After leaving the club as a youngster, Eto'o has shown that he has little time for Madrid, but insists that he would have taken part in the ceremony if he had been able to.
"I did not know that if I was booked I would miss the game on Wednesday," he said. "I did not deserve it anyway and am angry that I cannot play in the game. iyo laaa tuu
"It is always a great occasion and I did not want to miss it. I hope that they will look at it and take the card away."
Deco echoed his team-mate's sentiment by stating that he was unhappy about missing the game in Madrid, but accepted that there was little that could be done. |
